You are not allowed to miss this!!
Hello everybody. Tomorrow I will be travelling to China with Naty so we wonโ€™t be able to have our pachanga & boogaloo class. Itโ€™s going to be taught by 2 of empire favorites instructors. Nico & Nuria. You are gonna love them so do not miss it. Teachers training itโ€™s at 9am my time tomorrow.

What a great pachanga class!! Very well explained and a chance just to learn the very basics and ask the dumb questions! Thank you Nico and Nuria - and fellow classmates - that was such fun! ๐Ÿ˜
Cross body lead
Hello dear Community, I have a question - I seem to hear a lot of things regarding how to position myself during a crossbody lead. @Adolfo Indacochea โ€˜s approach seems to be more like a semi circle movement but I have a lot of teachers telling me to go in a line. Am I misunderstanding the movement, and losing my weight transfer because of that? What movement do you do when you do a crossbody lead as a leader and as a follow? I hope my question makes sense

So - as a follower - and in case it is of any use - I find myself dancing with both strict straight- line leads and Cuban circular dile que no - type leads ... so I end up opting for a general approach of almost a triangle with the height of the apex varying depending on the lead ... giving me the chance to change course to a straight line if needs be ๐Ÿ˜‚. My preference though is for a lovely flow rather than tight lines ! โ˜บ๏ธ

Social dancing mindset
Quick question about social dancing We all know how mixed and different people's views can be about social dancing, i thought for years about what makes a social dance enjoyable for a partner: Techniques complexity, mastery of it, connection, musicality.. And as a leader, i always keep going back to the same thoughts: How can i make it a better experience for the follow, should i just be simple, or actually try some crazy patterns that's gonna surprise her? I'd like to get a general opinion from this amazing community here ( both L and F ) in order to have a broader view for all of us about this subject. Thank you and have a nice day !

As a follower - thank you - for having these thoughts! I really appreciate it when whoever I am dancing with cares about how it feels for me. I really could write a book on how NOT to do it!! But in reality , I think it depends very much on the follower and the connection you make with her or him. If they are experienced - and you know them and their level of dancing and have a great connection - do all the fancy tricks you can and you will laugh and dance together - it is a wonderful feeling. If you are dancing with someone you have never danced with, however, it feels nicer - to me -- anyhow - to go for simple basic moves and see what develops between you. its like a conversation in that way. That said - I have danced with total strangers who have gone very quickly from the basics, established that I am adaptable and love to be challenged - and gone to crazy moves - and it's been great! You have a great day too!
