As The Pendulum Swings
This is a piece I wrote, inspired by the pendulum on campus with which I was enamored. One day, in the dread before algebra, I wondered what the tempo of the pendulum might be in 4/4. I calculated it, and the theme came to me. Here is the MuseScore link https://musescore.com/user/86684224/scores/37766870?share=copy_link Please feel free to share your thoughts. Thanks!

AI?! 😭 😁🥰🤮
My dear composers! I've been pondering over AI now for a bit... But I'm curious... What are your thoughts? About it in music, for other tasks, for life stuff, your predictions.... How are ya' FEELIN' about AI ? Terrified? Excited? Angry? Wanting to throw a grand piano off an 11 story building? Curious to hear your thoughts Share them below 👇

HaHa! AI, Artificial intelligence. Is that not an oxymoron? I use it when I want to know something. Facts, for research projects. What are the parts of a brain? How does an autistic brain, or a brain laden with anxiety, differ from a "normal" brain? How can music affect an afflicted brain for the better? Because heaven forbid I should ask a real human, who is too busy doing who knows what. Thus, artificial intelligence can be a tool, to learn. But what about AI, as in Actual Intelligence? What about human beings? Getting together? To make or create music, for example. To have fun, chat, talk, communicate, in a real way. As far as music: Supposedly, artificial intelligence can create music. Is it real music? When we take the humanity out of music? Is music real when we use artificial intelligence, that subtracts the very emotions that makes music, well, Music! Not to mention the fact that artificial intelligence does not need money to eat for a home or a car........ But those of us who have and use Actual Intelligence do need money to have a home, for food to eat, and instruments to play, and stuff to create Real music, with the emotions in it, for the pure joy of creating Music. Just a few thoughts!

This is so cool @David Churchill ! I love thr beats, the piano part. And how the piano and percussion offset each other. I love the intro, and the slight style changes. And the strings above thr piano and oercussion really set it up! So cool!
This is silly (but it works)
Today’s the day. 6:30 PM Eastern. Our very first co-composing flow. And I’ll admit it... what we’re about to do sounds a little ridiculous. We get on a live call. We say hello for 5 minutes. Then we mute ourselves and compose in silence, “together,” for 50 minutes. Then we unmute and share how it went. Grown adults. On the internet. Composing silently AT each other. Silly? Absolutely. But here’s what that one silly hour gets you: a spot on the calendar with other humans in it. Now, since this is our FIRST one, fair warning: it could be a total mess. I might fumble the mute button. Somebody’s dog might make a guest appearance (bring yours if they make music). There’s a nonzero chance I spend three minutes going “can everyone hear me? no? how about now?” But it will very likely be fun. Bring your favorite snacks. Bring a half-finished piece, a blank page, or rusty chops. It all counts. Cameras welcome but not required, come lurk and work if that’s your speed. Here’s the link to join at 6:30: https://www.skool.com/live/qRSBYcPFhTJ (It’s also in the calendar tab.) Comment below with what you’ll be working on so I know how many chairs to set out (and how much food to bring). 👇 See you at 6:30. Probably. If I figure out the buttons. Let’s make some music!

I only realized in 2022 that I could compose. It is my Passion--compose or cease to live. I want to meet fellow composers, and start an orchestra.
