What to expect more of in 2026
Clarity, ownership, and positioning will matter more than ever. Here is what I am already preparing clients and communities for. As we approach 2026, I have been reflecting on what is changing—and what is quietly becoming non-negotiable for professionals, creators, and business owners who want to operate with confidence and longevity. This is not a list of predictions for attention. It is a summary of what I am already seeing across my desk. Below are ten shifts I believe serious professionals should expect more of in 2026—and prepare for now. 1. More IP Disputes Involving AI-Created and AI-Assisted Work Principle: Creation does not automatically equal ownership. What’s Changing: AI tools, platforms, and collaborators are increasingly part of the creative process, and the legal lines matter more than people realize. Why It Matters: Many will discover too late that “I made it” does not mean “I own it.” Action: Clarify ownership before publishing, launching, or scaling anything AI-assisted. 2. More Creators and Businesses Losing Control of Their Brands Principle: Names and systems are assets only if they are protected. What’s Changing: Brands built on programs, frameworks, courses, and books are being challenged, copied, or diluted. Why It Matters: 2026 will clearly separate those who protected early from those who assumed. Action: Audit what you are using publicly and confirm what is actually secured. 3. More Lawsuits, Fewer Warnings Principle: The education phase is ending. What’s Changing: Enforcement is increasing, and informal grace periods are disappearing. Why It Matters: Mistakes that once triggered guidance now trigger consequences. Action: Move from casual compliance to intentional structure. Want the other 7? Let me know in the comments...
