6 contributions to Sing It Like You Mean It
You are not waiting for me to finish building this community.
You are helping me build it. ❤️🎤 This morning, @Jessica Labetti posted that she was excited to hear everyone’s before-and-after voices. That sparked an idea. Before the lessons begin, I’d like to invite willing members to record a short baseline singing clip. This will give you an honest starting point—not so anyone can criticize or compare you with someone else, but so you can eventually hear your own progress. Then @JenEstelle Johnson immediately said, “I’m game.” That willingness means more than she probably realizes, because a genuine transformation requires an honest beginning. Here’s what I want everyone to know: - Your recording will not need to be polished. - You will not need professional equipment. - You will not be required to share it publicly. - Nobody will be judged for where their voice is today. - Nothing will be used as a testimonial without your clear permission. - I’ll provide simple instructions so we’re recording under reasonably similar conditions. These baseline clips will also help me hear what our members genuinely need. If several people are struggling with breath, pitch, tension, high notes, confidence, or choosing the right key, those needs will help determine which lessons get built first. That means this classroom won’t be based entirely on what I assume singers need. It will be shaped by the people it is meant to help. Please don’t record anything yet—I’m creating the instructions first. For now, I’d love to know: 1. Would you be willing to record a private baseline clip? 2. Would you prefer to sing part of a song you choose or complete the same short assignment as everyone else? 3. What would help you feel safe enough to participate? 4. What is the first change you would hope to hear in your “after” recording? Your voice does not need to be perfect to belong here. It only needs a place to begin. ❤️

@Dorilyn Rose I volunteered when you posted about the 3 coaching spots… I thought. 🫣😆
I asked for one guitar player. A whole band stepped up. 🎤🔥
Many of you already know that I’m rebuilding my Skool community around Sing It Like You Mean It and creating the first vocal modules now. But while I’ve been building, something much bigger has been unfolding offline. Several wildfires have burned more than 150,000 acres around the area where I live in Northern Nevada. We experienced evacuation warnings, falling ash, power outages, and the very real possibility that the fire could reach our neighborhood. Now a 48-hour Reno Complex Wildfire Relief Telethon is being organized to help the people affected—and somehow, one yes after another has turned my small part in it into something I never expected. 🎤 I’ll sing the National Anthem from a Storey County fire truck at the Camel Races. 🎥 A videographer volunteered to film it, and that video will open the telethon. 🎸 I posted asking for one acoustic guitarist to accompany a few of my original songs. 🔥 Instead, an entire band—Trampfoot—stepped up and is now learning my music to perform with me. This has become a real-time lesson in building publicly: make the post, ask for what you need, let people see what you’re creating, and give the right people an opportunity to say yes. The course modules are still being built—but now the lessons about breath, confidence, preparation, and trusting your own voice are also being tested in the real world. The telethon begins streaming at 5 p.m. on October 30 and continues for 48 hours. If you’d like to follow what’s happening or support the Northern Nevada families affected by these fires, you can find the official information here: 👉 https://renocomplexwildfirerelief.com I thought I was simply building a Skool community. Apparently, I was also building toward this. ❤️

🎤 THREE FOUNDING PRIVATE COACHING SPOTS ARE NOW OPEN
Sometimes you don’t need another general lesson—you need someone to listen to your voice, hear what is actually happening, and help you work through the specific thing holding you back. I am opening three founding spots for singers who want consistent, personal coaching. For four consecutive weeks, we will meet privately for one hour at the same reserved time each week. We can use our sessions to: • Evaluate and work through a song • Identify why a particular phrase or note feels difficult • Improve breathing, support, projection, pitch, phrasing, or delivery • Reduce unnecessary throat, jaw, or body tension • Find a more comfortable key or approach for your voice • Work on microphone technique • Prepare for an audition, performance, or recording • Address whatever is frustrating you about your singing right now You do not need to arrive sounding polished or knowing exactly what is wrong. Bring me the song, the struggle, or the question, and we will find your clearest next step together. FOUNDING COACHING PACKAGE: 🎶 Four private 60-minute sessions 🎶 The same reserved appointment each week 🎶 Individualized guidance based on your voice and goals 🎶 A focused practice assignment following each session 🎶 First opportunity to renew your appointment after the initial four weeks PAYMENT OPTIONS: • $247 paid in full • Two payments of $129 • PayPal Pay in 4, if offered at checkout Completing the application does not obligate you to purchase. I will personally review each application and contact you to discuss whether we are a good fit and which recurring weekly appointment is available. Your coaching appointment is officially secured once we have agreed on a time and your first payment has been completed. There are only three founding appointments available. APPLY HERE: 👉 https://forms.gle/tDektE4XsiJncX1C6 If you have questions before applying, comment below or send me a private message. Let’s stop guessing about what your voice needs and start working on the next thing that will make a real difference.

@Dorilyn Rose I wanna cry. My childhood dream may be coming true. (With my favorite gif. Lol)
🎤 THE MODULES HAVE OFFICIALLY BEGUN!
Even with all the wildfire relief work happening around me, I want you to know that Sing It Like You Mean It is actively being built—and today I have officially begun creating the course modules. Right now, I’m working on the lessons that will help you understand your breathing, release tension, project without shouting, choose the right key, protect your voice, use a microphone confidently, and connect with the words you sing. Today has also given me a beautiful little gift: cool weather and rain. The air is being washed clean, everything feels calmer, and the sun will be back tomorrow. It feels like the perfect day to sit here and create something meaningful for you. You do not need a perfect voice to belong here. You need a voice you’re ready to understand, trust, and finally let people hear. The lessons are coming—and I’m so excited to start walking through them with you. ❤️🎶 While I’m building, tell me this: What is the ONE thing you most want help with when it comes to your singing voice?
