The life of a survivor of abuse at a tender young age
I was taught to sew by my mother at a young age. One of many things she taught me to do. I praise God for making me in his image as I also love to create , fix things, bake sew, plant flowers, roller skate, or use to shall I say. Ride bikes, love to talk, hike and water is a happy place for me. Well rounded I must say. God has been merciful great to me. Thank God for all the above. Not sure if I answered any question. The leadership program added wisdom to my life and allowed me to meet other people in attendance. All praise to God for Pastor Jay and Pastor Sonia. They always make the process of learning fun. Win, win. God Bless to all

Debra, I am so happy to have met you and made another friend in you this year! May God continue to bless you.
ARE YOU LEADING... OR JUST DOING EVERYTHING? 😂
One of the things we talk about in Planted With Purpose is the lesson Moses had to learn from Jethro. Moses was working HARD. He was helping people, solving problems, answering questions and doing things that genuinely needed to be done. And Jethro basically looked at him and said, “What you’re doing isn’t good.” And I think a lot of leaders can relate to that. Sometimes we convince ourselves that because we're capable of doing something, we should keep doing it. Then we wonder why we're exhausted and nobody around us is growing. This is why you've gotta understand that delegation isn't just about getting things off your plate. Delegation is development. When I give someone meaningful responsibility, I'm not just making my life easier. I'm giving somebody else an opportunity to discover what they can carry. Now here's where I want to hear from you. What is ONE thing you're currently doing that you probably shouldn't still be doing? And don't give me the church answer. Really think about it. 😂 What are you still carrying that somebody around you could be learning to carry? Drop yours below. 👇🏾

I am trying to apply what I am learning through the word of God. I would say that the financial accountability at home could use some delegation. We both participate in earning income (that is not an issue). However many many years ago I took on the responsibility of ensuring all budgets were balanced and payments were made. I know my husband is perfectly capable. I just made it such a habit for me to do on a monthly basis, that now I see it can be a problem. He has become unaware of when and how much goes where. The issue is: What if something were to happen to me?! He would be left scrambling to know what goes where and when. This may not be a "problem" but definitely something we should both be capable and aware of. Therefore delegation to me is sharing responsibility. Handing those trusted individuals the tools and teaching them how to use them properly in your absence.

I can't thank you enough for taking the time to set these classes up for the community. There are those of us that thirst for knowledge and guidance through this path of service to God. The two of you have been such a great example of what leadership means. 👏 You have inspired me to listen with not just my ears but with my heart as well. Looking forward to the next course!
