Stage 1, Lesson 1: free to watch
Learn ECU tuning from the absolute basics Before you can tune a car, you need to understand the computer that runs it. This lesson breaks down what an ECU actually does, in plain language, no experience needed. You'll learn: - What an ECU is (forget the jargon — it's the engine's brain) - The read, decide, act loop it runs thousands of times a second - The sensors feeding it: RPM, throttle, air, temperature, knock - Where its decisions actually come from: the maps stored inside - What remapping a car really means: changing those maps, not the hardware This is the lesson that connects everything. Once you understand that a file is just a set of instructions the ECU follows, tuning stops being magic and starts being something you can read. Part of a beginner series taking you from zero to confident. The deeper lessons — reading and judging real files — live in the community Stop trusting. Start reading. extended course will be on skool tomorrow. https://youtu.be/-EkmGKuxiK8

INTRO:
I’m the one behind LOA HEX. I read ECU files for a living, and I built this place to teach what I actually do, properly, from the ground up. If you love cars and you’ve ever wanted to understand what’s really happening inside a tune (not just bolt on parts and hope), you’re in the right room. You don’t need to be a pro. You need a passion for cars and a willingness to learn. The rest is what the courses are for. What you’ll find here: real lessons built from real files. How a map actually works, what the numbers mean, where tuners go wrong, and how to read it all yourself. No fluff, no gatekeeping, no pretending it’s more complicated than it is. I’m just getting started with the channel but aim to post and update daily. 😁 Sooo, Two things to kick us off: 1. Drop a reply. What you do? what you drive or dream of driving, and what got you into cars in the first place. 2. Start with the first lesson when you’re ready. We build from the basics up, so no step gets skipped. A massive welcome aboard. Let’s get you reading files instead of guessing.

@Isaiah Tsougas Welcome aboard, Isaiah great to have a diesel guy in the room. The LML is a perfect platform to learn on, there’s a lot going on inside those files once you start pulling them apart. Coming from the mechanic side you’ll already understand the hardware, so the tuning logic tends to click fast.

@Jimmy Lovlirikal Welcome in, Jimmy, good to have you here. The 1.6 TDI on a hybrid turbo is solid and great to learn on, there’s plenty going on in the EDC17C64 once you start opening the maps, and the hybrid changes how you read the airflow and limiter side. One thing worth knowing for where you take it, is the car a DSG or a manual? If it’s the DSG you’ve got the 7-speed DQ200 in there with its own controller, so there’s a whole second layer to learn on the gearbox side: shift points, clutch pressure, torque handling. Worth keeping the DQ200’s stock 250Nm ceiling in mind as you lean on the hybrid, that’s usually the part that wants attention first. Either way, glad you’re in. Ask anything as you go, that’s what the room’s for.
