What Should A New Leader Focus On First?
Imagine you're leading a team for the first time tomorrow. You have new responsibilities, different personalities to manage, and a team looking to you for direction. You can't fix everything on day one. So where do you begin? What's the first thing you'd prioritize? Share why you'd start there.

I’d start by setting clear goals and making sure everyone understands their role. My approach to leadership is to give people direction without making them feel like they’re being micromanaged. I want my team to know what we’re working toward, feel comfortable asking questions, and have the confidence to take ownership of their responsibilities. I believe people do their best work when they have both clarity and trust. 🙂 @Evan Carmichael

@Kim Ivy Busa Exactly, Kim! 😊 I think people do their best when they feel trusted to figure things out, rather than being told every step. Have you found that with your team too?
WHAT’S YOUR BIGGEST ENTREPRENEURIAL FEAR?
Building a business comes with plenty of uncertainty. What’s the one thing that scares you most about entrepreneurship?

Absolutely, @Karyn Devlin! Finding the right people is only half the challenge. Keeping them engaged and helping them grow with the business is just as important. I think clear expectations, good communication, and creating a sense of ownership can make a real difference. Training someone takes time, so you naturally hope to build a working relationship that lasts. 🙂

Exactly, @Kim Ivy Busa! That’s something I’m learning to be more intentional about. It’s easy to get caught up in the daily tasks because they always need attention, but making time to improve the business and build the right support system is what creates room for growth. 🙂
It's Time To Put A Face To Your Business
Building a personal brand is one of the most powerful ways to grow your business and stand out in a crowded market. When people see your face, hear your story, and understand what you stand for, they have a reason to trust you beyond just your products or services. You don't need to be perfect on camera. You just need to be willing to show up consistently and let people get to know the person behind the business. The more people recognize and trust you, the easier it becomes to attract the right clients who choose you for your value, not just your price. What's holding you back from showing up more as the face of your business? ❤️

Showing up consistently is probably the hardest part, especially when you’re more comfortable working behind the scenes. 😂 But I agree, people connect with people, and that trust can make a real difference.

@Kim Ivy Busa So true, creating content and filming yourself is a real skill too. Overwhelming at first but as you go, it turns out to be fun 😄

Keep going, Quietly
You don’t have to announce every move. You don’t need everyone to understand what you’re building. Sometimes, the best thing you can do is stay focused, keep learning, and keep moving. Let your consistency speak for you. This Monday, keep going, even if nobody is clapping yet. What are you quietly working toward?

Needed this reminder. Sometimes it’s better to focus on making progress than explaining every step to everyone. Small steps still count, even when nobody sees them yet. 😊
