Love it! Let's go!
Got 30 Minutes? Here's $13,000.
One small change can be worth more than it first appears. In yesterday's Leadership Lab, we learned how to save at least an hour a week through a very simple exercise. At an hourly rate of $250 (which is at least what your time is worth), saving one hour a week adds up to $13,000+ over a year! 🤯 Repeat the process for added value. The lesson, Identify Where to Reduce Your Involvement in Client Delivery, will help you pinpoint one recurring area that still requires your time, judgement, approval, knowledge, or attention, then choose a practical next step that helps the team take greater ownership of that work. You’ll use the guided exercise to: - Identify one specific situation - Clarify what the team needs from you - Decide what could be made clearer - Choose one practical change that will reduce your involvement The exercise takes less than 30 minutes. You don't get that kind of ROI by continuing to answer client texts at night or scrambling to clear your inbox every morning. Share with us: What change will you make, and how much time will it save you? What's your dollar value for that time? Comment below.

@Cris Seppola Thank you, sounds great!
If I Were to Coach You...
I’ve built strong teams with clear purpose, clear responsibility, and the confidence to act. Building that kind of clarity and ownership gave me the space to focus on the bigger picture instead of staying involved in every decision. If I were to coach you, what would you want me to help you with?

I could use help with building out a remote team including supervisory roles. For my business, the ideal would be to have some sort of a project manager who reports to me directly, and under that position various editors and graphic design artists. My hesitancy is in delegating the authority roles. And yet I know it is necessary to free up my time so I can focus on other issues in my business.

People, Systems, or AI? A Practical Delegation Lab
New Lab is live in the classroom: People, Systems, or AI? A Practical Delegation Lab 🎉 I’m pretty excited about this one because I think it gives us a really useful way to think about delegation without getting stuck in the old question of, “Who can I hand this to?” In this Lab, we’re using the Work Support Sorter to look at one area of work in your business and ask: What kind of support does this actually need? Maybe it still needs your judgment. Maybe a person could handle part of it. Maybe the system needs to do more. Maybe AI can prepare a first version. Maybe some of it can be stopped or simplified because, full disclosure, sometimes we keep doing things because we’ve always done them that way. You’ll choose one area only, such as content, inbox, scheduling, client onboarding, follow-up, reporting, proposals, meeting prep, admin, or contractor coordination. Please don’t worry about choosing the perfect thing. The point is to learn the tool and use it on something real. In the exercise, you’ll name what you’re currently doing, deciding, reviewing, and remembering or tracking. Then you’ll sort those pieces across five options: you, people, systems, AI, or stop/simplify. By the end, you’ll have one practical change you can start this week. The video, worksheet, and artifact are all linked in the classroom lesson. 🪞 After you go through the Lab, use this thread to share your reflection: What is one thing you’re ready to stop treating as automatically yours, and would it be better supported by a person, a system, AI, or a combination? Can't wait to see what you choose! PS, I do plan on making more delegation videos and labs. It's a huge subject that deserves a lot of attention. So if you made a request about delegation training, I haven't forgotten about you!

Even just the title and wording of this post was helpful to me. In a very succinct way it helped me realize that this is a question I can ask early on regarding various types of work. I have been using AI extensively but have not taken a step back to assess how it actually fits into the big picture. Frameworks like this are exactly what I need for that.
