Anyone running on Ubuntu? 🐧
I currently have my OC running locally Ubuntu 24.04 LTS and wanted to Turn On QMD After some research, Ubuntu 24.04 LTS and OC QMD have some compatibility issues, and it was suggested that I wipe the machine and downgrade/re-install with Ubuntu 22.04.5 LTS I was also told there are addional setting/tasks that should be done to increase reliabilty of QMD on Linux Is there a Primer or Anyone who knows of someone who has QMD running on Ubuntu without issue? Then looking at installing ClawVault as Level 3 memory once this gets running. Thanks, SnowRaven / Jeff OC on Local Ubuntu 24.04 LTS Lenovo i5 Gen12 Intel 32GB DDR5 + 512 NMVE Tiny ThinkCenter Gen 3

Nice. I'll look into clawvault also. I'm on windows using Ubuntu, but I just crashed my bot by removing OpenAi API. Somehow that caused it; unrecoverable. 26hrs later I reinstalled it today, and making a backup of the operational version including roadmap of where everything goes incase another unrecoverable incident occurs. Eventually, I'll get a Mac mini or Studio and pair with my PC via ethernet (2 brains). HP Omen 45L: - CPU: Intel Core i9-13900K (13th Gen) - GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 (24GB VRAM) - RAM: 128GB (3600 MT/s) - Storage: 5.48TB dedicated to OpenClaw

@Jeffrey Thompson I have Ubuntu 24.04 My main goal is to use a competent local LLM that can connect with Codex 5.3, Claude Code, etc., type it's question/code, wait, copy Codex/Claude's answer, then use that info. That'll save me $1,000s of dollars per month plus get better results. I'm currently adding Playwright bridge for its internet. Openclaw Chrome extension didn't work.
Skills
Since we are the OC Builders community, I want to build a skill for the community what do you all want me to create. After you vote, post a comment so I can capture the details of what you want. At a minimum provide the following information As a persona I would like to do x, for reason y and the desire outcome y As a business owner I want to reduce the time I spend on daily social posting, so I can focus on making more sales calls. When I make sales calls I close 20% and make an extra $10,000 /mo instead of creating social media post that don't perform well. I post to Facebook, X, Reddit and Linkedin to direct potential customers to my funnel. I've made a post a day for each social and I don't get any organic traffic to my funnel. I spend an 2 hours a day making posts.

A teaching/training tool, which trains OpenClaw with business courses. Use time stamps to sync screenshots with transcribed audio. Use the screenshots to help understand what the audio is instructing the user to understand. Bottle that information within a training folder/subfolder and improve it's logic/understanding/skill.
Deep Dive: OpenAI Just "Acquired" OpenClaw — Here's What Actually Happened (And Why It Matters for Builders)
Peter Steinberg — the solo developer who built OpenClaw (fastest-growing open source AI agent project) — is joining OpenAI. But here's the twist: OpenClaw isn't being sold. It's becoming an independent foundation, staying open source, and Steinberg is keeping his "non-negotiable" commitment to openness. Why this matters: This is the biggest story in AI agents right now. A one-person project that hit 60,000 GitHub stars in months just got the backing of the world's most prominent AI lab — while keeping its open source soul intact. The Timeline (Because Context Matters) Nov 2025 • What Happened: Steinberg starts OpenClaw as a personal project Dec 2025 • What Happened: Goes viral. Crosses 60,000 GitHub stars Jan 9, 2026 • What Happened: Anthropic blocks OAuth token access for third-party projects (including OpenClaw). Backlash ensues Jan 2026 • What Happened: Anthropic forces name change from "Claudebot" → "Moldbot" → "OpenClaw" (three names in 72 hours) Jan 2026 • What Happened: Scammers hijack old accounts in under 5 seconds. Security nightmare Feb 2026 • What Happened: Steinberg announces talks with Meta and OpenAI on Lex Fridman's podcast Feb 15, 2026 • What Happened: Official announcement: Steinberg joins OpenAI; OpenClaw becomes independent foundation What Sam Altman Actually Said "Peter Steinberg is joining OpenAI to drive the next generation of personal agents. He is a genius with a lot of amazing ideas about the future of very smart agents interacting with each other to do very useful things for people. We expect this will quickly become core to our product offerings." Translation: OpenAI sees agents as their next major platform play. They're betting on Steinberg to lead it. What Steinberg Actually Committed To His Non-Negotiables (From His Own Blog Post): 1. OpenClaw stays open source — Not negotiable. Period. 2. Foundation structure — Moving to a proper foundation, not OpenAI ownership 3. Independence — Foundation remains independent (though OpenAI is sponsoring it)

Overall I guess it would be best to build your own "Open-Claw', but a better version.

@Ramakrishnan Raju build your own. Have your bot analyze the code and make openclaw better.
OpenClaw constantly forgetting things
I'm struggling with this to a point is becoming unusable for me. It happens very often that I ask OpenClaw agent to do something and says "you need to give me access", after I gave it a access token 5minutes ago and specifically asked it to memorize that and not ask me again about it. Or giving me an update on work where it says it needs to complete a task it already completed. Tried everything, ask it to update it's AGENTS.md and long term memory to immediately save important info and read from memory every time and even updated the files myself but still pretends it forgets. I think it saves everything in memory, because when i remind it that I gave it tht info already goes "ah yes my bad i see now you mentioned it X minutes ago". But think searching it's memory is the issue. I don't see that many people complaining this is a huge problem and I have a hunch is because of the fact I enabled VectorDB to index and search? I watched this tutorial to help decrease token cost by not reading all its long term memory and daily memory instead using VectorDB to index and search its memory files. At this point this is the only lead I have. I also use Claude 5.6 so is not the model being dumb. Any suggestions here?

On YT, A guy said he had the same problem. That issue lessened once he had his bot create a temporary PDF of what he just told it to do and maybe a brief plan of action. @19:00 https://youtu.be/rlJovzVhlIo?si=q5lTn64ri3ayxrll

I'm building trading bots based on Steven Dux six strategies, which will probably require six bots.
