Interpol
Coming to North America this summer, Interpol. Will it feel like the summer of 2005? Nope. Do I feel like I did in the summer of 2005? Also nope. BUT, they will be in the PNW in early August !!! Looks like their euro dates are with Bloc Party - that would be quite the double bill!
The song you weren't ready for
So, I have songs and albums that are slow burners. I know you know. You almost get mad at yourself for not loving it from the go. I liked OK Computer at first and well, it's near the top of my all timers now. I do this on the show as well. I love it actually as I can hear from listeners who are also "getting it" along with me. Is there a song from this past year that didn’t land at first—but later found you when you were ready? Those are often the ones that last.

The new Geese album - singles didn't grab me at first but they (and the album) just keep getting better!
My first shows of 2026!
I'm excited that my first 2026 show purchases are St. Vincent and Mavis Staples! And a recently discovered 2025 show - Corinne I saw your note and somehow didn't know that The Beths are coming here to Portland until last week even though I certainly look out for them. I'm happy to say that I'm going to see them on Nov 14 (the same week as Cut Copy and Neko Case!)

Enjoyed seeing The Beths at KEXP - can't make the November SEA show but note to self, grab the newest album (should be solid based on the live set)
Any Old 97's fans here?
I'm planning on attending the Rhett Miller/Murray Hammond show at the Clock-out Lounge this Saturday. Anyone else? https://www.ticketweb.com/event/tractor-presents-rhett-miller-w-clock-out-lounge-tickets/13912854

Loved seeing Old 97's at the Croc a couple of years ago - hope you made it! We had a conflict with the Destroyer show Saturday
Most memorable shows of your life
I saw James for the umpteenth time at the Showbox last week. I got into them in 1990 while studying in Cambridge, England, and went to every California show they did from their first tour in '92 forward. The first one at was probably only my fourth show ever (i was 16) and the first club show I went to. You never forget that first experience. There were only 20 of us there ahead of time, trading favorite songs and buying $3 zine someone had made. Tim Field around like a seizure victim, and the crowd crawled on stage and leading each other's laps and saying during "sit down." My second favorite was seeing The Flaming Lips' soft bulletin tour in 1998. I had no idea what their shows were like and my head was blown clean off. All I can say is I left the show with fake blood in my hair and confetti in my panties. Sarajevo legend Goran Bregovič would be another one and I'm seeing him next year for the fourth time, but that's not really Morning Show fodder.
