Grill/Smoker #18 is the Giant Huntsman by Spider Grills. Their products have been on my radar for a few years. I have an inquiry into them about the ambient probe. I want to place it in the port at the rear of the grill but it is not long enough. I'm wondering if I received a probe meant for the regular size Huntsman by mistake. In the meantime, I need to season it with the wax that came with it.

Weber recently recalled 3.2 million metal wire bristle brushes because ingesting the small bristles can result in serious internal injury that can result in surgery. I bought the Typhur Gold Wireless Thermometer a month or two ago. I like it so much, I bought another one! I know everyone is high on the RFX thermometer (which I also own) and I almost bought it again but in the end, I decided to go with the less hyped Typhur kit for these reasons: - I really like being able to see the temperatures on all 4 probes without needing to use a phone - The app is clean & easy to use. It includes cooking predictably features that have not been perfect but in the right ballpark. I also like that I can put the name of the food that I’m cooking in the notes and it shows up on the app’s main screen. - The probes work well inside my offset smoker. Like the RFX, the connection does drop occasionally but it usually reconnects fairly quickly - A small feature turned out to be huge….. putting numbers on the probes makes it much easier to keep track of what’s what when you’re cooking multiple things. Overall, the Typhur gold has turned out to be one of my two favorite BBQ accessories of 2025.
