Beginner seeking to Grow
- This is Jeff from San Jose, California US - I am new to Reiki. Never practiced, never experienced, but have experience with various martial arts and yoga dealing with movement of kundalini, chi, etc. I've never experienced Reiki; curious to learn about people's experiences as I 1st encountered a practitioner as I traveled through Mexico for 9 months and triggered my curiosity. - 3 things I would like from the community: - Origin stories and opinions about what makes Reiki great to you, so I can decide more about the path I'd like to take - Connection to consider collaborations as I develop my wellness coaching business with retreats and workshops - Recommendations to people who may help me grow further as I start my business.

@Fardau Jansma Fardau, she didn't really tell me much. I just saw her pictures of how she worked with people, and she had this glow to her. I think having worked with Ki/chi, I've always felt that I've shared energy with people for healing them of emotional issues, especially since I have a lot of experience working with kids in inner city areas. Just looking to widen my tool bag a bit. What's your specialty and what got you started in Reiki?
Our relation with discomfort
Yesterday we went on a hike that was described as a "relatively easy". A hike that would be perfect to acclimatise to the hight (we are currently in Peru at 3000M above sea level). Just a couple of steps in and my heart was POUNDING! It was really tough! Then something interesting happened. A voice in my head started negotiation with me. "You are not ready for this, you should go back" "This is too straining for your body" "It's better to go back, this discomfort is not worth it" etc. etc. I noticed how much it resisted discomfort. And I felt it! But, did not let it defeat or define me. Overcoming this felt incredible. It was physically and mentally straining, but so worth it! Do you recognize this pull towards choosing comfort? Maybe there is an opportunity in your life to go out of your comfort zone, whatever it is. Sit with it, listen and perhaps walk right through.

Love that. The path is thru the pain. The human lazy brain fights against working harder to save resources, but once you get the momentum going, WATCH OUT!
