From Rough Start to Perfect Peace
š³ Long post alert! I wanted to share this sale I got yesterday in Saginaw because it started off with negative energyā¦and finished up with positivity and peace. A neighbor for my lot saw my ad on Craigslist. The first screenshot is her initial email she responded to my ad. Basically approaching me in a manner that felt too forceful with attempts to incite fear. She saw me as the ābig bad investorā who wants to gouge the little man after acquiring the lot for such a low cost at the Land Bank. I initially ignored her because I AVOID people who disrupt my peace. As they say, āall money aināt good moneyā. But then she found my ad on Land.com and responded there, then she called me and left voicemail. I slept on it and then reminded myself - this is business. She clearly wants the land! So letās find a happy medium. Later on in an email she shared that she is disabled, retired, fixed income, and no car. She wanted this little piece of land as her own little āparadiseā for her nieces, nephews, and grandkids to play and build a garden. 1ļøā£ I reminded her that the price paid at the land bank is not a reflection of the value of the property (Charles taught us that on a mentorship call). 2ļøā£ What I was charging was below market value in relation to comps in the area. 3ļøā£ And that land sales is how I take care of my family including my aging parents. I impressed upon her that she deserved this lot and maybe they can make it a āfamily investmentā. I decided to reduce the price by $500 as a show of kindness and consideration of her situation. So she was able to get some funds from her son, and I ended up selling it for $2,500. All in all, another $500 or $1,000 would have had way less impact on my bank account than the impact that this property will have for her and her family. Charles reminds us to pay it forward. So her second email was a totally different energy and spirit. I made a FRIEND š
