😄 Following Christ is Fun, Refreshing & Full of Joy!
Do you ever catch yourself smiling for no reason? ✨ If you do, it’s actually for a reason. A close walk with God changes the way we see the world—it shifts our focus from stress to gratitude, from ourselves to others, and from problems to promises. ✨ If you don’t, here’s some encouragement: a deeper relationship with God can spark that joy in an instant. His presence is a fountain of peace and gladness that never runs dry. 💡 Why This Matters - A humble heart that wants the best for others naturally attracts people who want the best for you too. - Surrounding ourselves with positive people who share godly values and ethics fills us with strength and joy. - At the same time, we’re called to shine in places that might not be so positive. Out in the world, we pray that we are the influence, not the influenced. That’s why Christian community is so important. When we gather—whether in church on Sunday or here in this group throughout the week—we get support, prayer, accountability, and encouragement to keep going strong. 💬 Today’s Prompt: What’s one way your relationship with Christ has brought you joy this week? Was it a smile, a laugh, an act of kindness, or simply peace in your heart? 👇 Share below and let’s remind each other that following Jesus isn’t just about rules—it’s about real joy, every day. “The joy of the Lord is your strength.” – Nehemiah 8:10
@Karen Norwood how beautiful 😍
I look at the sky and it's beauty brings a smile. Going to the beach and watching the waves lifts up my spirits. Being able to see God in all his creation and feeling joined to him is a very soul-filling experience. We can't let the beauty in these moments escape us. We really do have to "stop and smell the roses" and not let ourselves become hardened to our surroundings.
🤔 I Just Don’t Understand Why…
There are things in this world that make us stop and think:“Why is this even a thing?” Sometimes it’s silly. Sometimes it’s heartbreaking. Sometimes it’s just… puzzling. Here’s the deeper truth: There is a reason for everything. God gave us free will—He doesn’t force us to follow Him. Every choice we make has a cause and effect. And those choices? They create ripple effects—impacting not only us, but the people and situations around us. Most of us never pause to trace things back to the root… but that’s where the understanding often lies. What’s one thing in the world that makes you say: “I just don’t understand why this exists.” It can be: - Something funny 😂 - Something confusing 🤨 - Something serious that makes your heart ache 💔 Let’s open up a conversation—both lighthearted and deep.Who knows? Someone else’s perspective might just open your eyes to the why behind it. 👇 Share yours below—and feel free to reply to others to keep the discussion going!
@Duane Wilcox I agree! The Renaissance artists saw it too and carried it into art!
@Vicki Riddle yes we do! And let's not forget those seahorses...God lets the males get a taste of what child birth feels like...poor little guys!
📖 Scripture & Reflection – Today’s Pause with God
Life moves fast. But God’s Word invites us to slow down—to read, reflect, and let it sink deep. When we truly take time with Scripture, it changes how we think, respond, and live. “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” – Psalm 119:105 💬 Today’s Prompt: What verse is speaking to your heart today, and what is God showing you through it? It could be encouragement, conviction, a reminder of His promises, or a call to trust Him in a new way. Take a moment to write it out. Let’s share our reflections so they can bless someone else who may need that same Word today. 👇 Post your verse and a short reflection in the comments. Your insight might be the encouragement another person has been praying for.

Today, I am blessed - Here's Why
Scripture and reflection time! Why are you blessed? It may take a novel to tell why, or may it could be summed up in 1 word. Either way, we want to hear about your blessings. Reflecting in where you were and where you are now can be powerful. Did something stand out during a Sunday message, or did you read something during devotion and prayer? Fill us in, and don't forget to comment on other's messages. Let's light up this community feed and give glory to the most high.

🌞 Sunday Church Takeaway – Let’s Share the Overflow
Church may be over for the day… but the message? It’s still alive, still stirring, and still working in our hearts. Sometimes the best part of Sunday isn’t just the sermon—it’s what happens when we take it with us into the rest of the week. That’s where transformation happens. That’s where faith grows roots. 💬 Let’s do something special today: Think about your moment from church today. It might be… - 🙌 A worship song that lifted the weight off your shoulders - 📖 A scripture that hit you like a personal letter from God - 💡 A truth that challenged you to think differently - ❤️ A story that reminded you you’re seen, loved, and never alone Don’t keep it to yourself—share it here. You never know who might need to hear the same encouragement that touched you. “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly…” – Colossians 3:16 ✨ Today’s Challenge: After you share, read through a few others’ takeaways and leave a comment or encouragement. Let’s make this thread a place overflowing with hope, faith, and joy—so we can all walk into Monday full of the Word. 👇 Drop your Sunday takeaway below—just a sentence or a whole story. Either way, your words could be the blessing someone’s been praying for.

Hello! I finally have a bit of time to catch up! My 101 yr old friend will be going back home to assisted living later this week so we are very excited!! Rehab has had her up and walking more. The last few weeks, we have been studying Rom 14: 1-19. We are looking at the truths/values expressed by Paul and asking ourselves if we are truly living them, or only giving lip service to them (as individuals and as a church). JESUS IS GREATER THAN EVERYTHING 1. People are more important than things. 2. Belonging is more important than behavior (remembering the church was made up of both Jew and gentile at that time and both had very different habits and behaviors). 3. Trajectory is greater than proximity. 4. Progress is greater than perfection. 5. Service is greater than status. Some of these are harder than others when you really get down to it, but we all need to be honest with ourselves, right? 😀 The list may get longer, but I already see myself on this one sometimes. I fight it, but I don't always win
