Sharing a story with you that I shared on Monday Evening with my Mentorship group. Core Emotion: Visibility Story on freedom A beautiful parrot spent years in a cage. Every day it cried, “I want to be free! I want to be free!” The owner, moved by its constant pleas, finally opened the cage door and stepped back. The door remained open. The parrot looked at the open doorway, but didn’t move. It had food; the cage was a familiar environment he knew well, and it offered safety. The world beyond felt uncertain. Hours passed. Then days. The cage door stayed open, Yet the parrot never flew away. It had become so conditioned to wanting to be free and to having lived with the feeling of being held hostage for so long that the open door no longer meant freedom. The cage had become part of its identity. The truth is! We may long for change, healing, authentic expression, or freedom, yet when the opportunity appears. We become like the Parrot!! We are unsure of our identity, and we have gathered all the information, but when it comes to being seen, heard, or voicing our needs… we lack action. Pause Fear of the unknown can keep us in familiar patterns. Sometimes the greatest prison isn’t the cage itself; it’s the belief that we can’t leave it. Awareness alone isn’t enough. The door can be opened, but we still have to choose to step through it. What is our formula? Awareness + Action = Authentic Power. From the story of the Parrot. 🦜 The open cage is awareness. Taking flight is an action. Freedom is the result. Transformation is really looking at the big picture and the people, places and things to fly with. It was a wonderful July mentorship, and you know I’m always here to encourage you to fly. Please reach out if you would like to learn more on my services. It's an incredible feeling to love life. 🦜🦜🦜❤️❤️❤️ -Angela
