The task: for a private chef service, generate a clean-looking PDF with each new form submission and push it back into an n8n workflow. There weren’t any built-in HTML to PDF options (outside paid tools or self-hosting n8n and using an opensource app installed), So with power of AI I coded my own small API that takes HTML, renders a PDF, and returns it to n8n. Deployed it on Vercel so the client can use it for free. The annoying bit: CSS wouldn’t load in the PDF for more than 3 hours plus. No clear reason, but I worked around it and now have a working solution. I used Claude Code to create the API. Hosted on Vercel for free Google Drive to upload the PDF to n8n for the automation

I made a simple automation that checks multiple X accounts once a day and saves the follower count in Airtable. It also records the change from the previous day so you can see rises or dips across accounts. It uses n8n with a daily cron, calls the X API, and upserts the data to Airtable. This automation is great for those that may run X.com agencies like for ghost writing to track performance and inform clients.

A client needed their payroll automated — they track teacher hours and lessons in another system, and wanted pay calculated and updated in Google Sheets automatically. Normally, I’d spin this up through n8n, but today I found out about Google Apps Script. Turns out, it’s perfect for this - you can host your code directly inside Sheets, make API requests, run calculations, triggers every Monday at 9am, and automate everything natively. Built the whole workflow and deployed it for free, no extra tools or subscriptions needed.
