2/3 lover check in
I missed the check in yesterday. I did ok on limiting social media; I watched a few shorts. Here's the question I asked students. Some students didn't have an answer. It was fun to hear wha some did share: relationships, money, God, a smile.

2026 Email Newsletter Campaign
Hey all. So I’m starting a new monthly email format for my existing clients and current email list (consisting of fellow trades, design professionals and similar folks) next week. I first came up with the concept for this email last year but due to unexpected shifting priorities I had to put it on hold (which was fine as I have a strong word of mouth presence to begin with). After a year of the concept percolating, I’m excited to finally push forward with it! I’m mentioning it here to see if any are interested in being added to the list and also add one more layer of accountability for myself to see this through on the monthly basis I’m intending to release them. I know all too well that when my war season hits, too much tends to fall off with the chaos that season of life tends to contain so just knowing that I stated this here could help sway this intention from getting sidetracked or derailed. If you’d like to be added please either respond with your email or fee free to email me directly: [email protected] I will welcome any and all feedback, positive or otherwise, from the group! (Either directly or during any group discussions I find myself in with everyone) Thanks in advance!

@Stretch Meyer thanks!
22nd Sovereign check-in
Day job took most of my attention. I did some housekeeping & taking a step back / recommit. Stupid little things, but it needed to be done - consolidate my to-do lists that accumulated over the past few weeks / throw out what's no longer important, order a few things I'm running short on.

@Philip Folsom it’ll be the title of one of the chapters in my book!
Another Private Residence
I figured while I've been going through some photos I'd share some of my other work. I designed this space, built the pond and all of the stone elements for this project, including the fabrication of the fire boulder and custom grill island. The deck cantilever's out about 6' over the pond and currently about 100 koi live in this pond system. The client is a dream to work for and we just finished a complete makeover of the front of the house this past 2025 season. And we're about to go under permit in the next couple of weeks to build a custom stone and glass 25' x 35' greenhouse (with a turtle pond inside of it) and this will be the first project of this magnitude that I'll be managing all of the trades and elements. Completion slated for September. I'll for sure share pictures as we get into it. So excited to build this 😁 (Also, these are the first pictures I've ever taken with people in my spaces and also the first time I hired a professional photographer - a wonderful suggestion by Philip)

One of my 2025 projects
I thought I’d start sharing some photos of what I do. Working on some forward marketing this year (socials and video content) after taking a breather this past year from most social media due to other life focuses. I fabricated and installed this fire boulder on a private residence in collaboration with a builder I work regularly with. It’s electrically ignited and tied into the clients smart home system, making it easy to turn off and on with their phones.

@Jabari Peoples Thanks! I've always been involved in landscape since a kid and was inspired when I was stationed in Japan as a US Marine. When I got out I got into building ponds and discovered my love for stone work. Been learning and creating since (and it's coming up on 20 years of doing it for myself) I tend to hangout on private residences mostly these days. I enjoy the interaction and freedom I have with the clients and I don't really care for the cashflow game of large corporate projects (given they are subject to banks and when they feel like parcelling out the money haha) I have done pretty cool larger projects though. Here's a hotel I did like 10 years ago...
