Church
Hello. I would like some opinions about changing churches. I like the church we attend, but I am 37. If I had to guess I would say at least 85% of our church is 55+. I would like to make more connections in church, and possibly even spark a romantic connection of some kind. I live in a small town. I raise a 5 year old alone. I work a full time job, travel or commute occasionally for a second job, attend classes regularly for the volunteer fire department. I don't have a lot of free time to make friends, social connections, or possibly meet a great woman to build my family with. Is it wrong for me to consider "shopping around" for a church that has a bit more of my age group to build a more faith based social circle?

I have had an amazing week. I spent the week in Houston working at the World Baseball Classic. I left a lasting impression on the local team and the support staff that was helping out from all over the country. We fed 40,000+ happy people every day doing back to back games with 0 major issues or complaints. I got home safe last night and get to go pick up my little boy today. On top of all these opportunities, it feels like just the beginning of what God is doing in my life. The momentum has shifted in my direction. Things are moving in my favor and falling in place. I don't know what God has planned, but it feels BIG.

Letโ€™s talk about it!
Christian dating should not look like the world with a Bible verse sprinkled on top. We do not date for entertainment. We do not date to fill loneliness. We do not date to test drive chemistry. We date with intention. We date with community. We date with accountability. We date with the fear of the Lord and the fruit of the Spirit actually leading the relationship. The world says follow your heart, scripture says guard it. The world says test compatibility physically, scripture says honor God with your body. The world says move in together and see if it worksโ€ฆ. Wisdom says build on covenant not convenience. Christian dating should look set apart. It should be rooted in identity not insecurity. If you love Jesus, your dating life should reflect itโ€ฆ. So letโ€™s talk about it. What is the best Christ centered dating advice you have ever received or learned the hard way? I want to hear it.

It took me a while to come around when I first came to faith, but through solitude and contemplation of the word I came to understand that God's design for literally EVERYTHING is better. This definitely includes sex, dating and marriage. OK. Got it. I do not feel that this means as Christians we should not date to discover. We should not discover physically, however, I feel that we are too timid to discover if there is a connection. Too concerned with sin management to take a chance at a coffee date. Maybe it is my personal experience, but I believe God wants us to take chances. Sure we shouldn't risk sin, but God wants us to find love, be happy, get married, have lots of little yahoos to chase around and learn from and grow with. And a beautiful, contrasting balance to give support and guidance and wisdom and share faith and grow and laugh. Take a chance. You never know what God has planned.
Favourite Character in bible
What's your favourite character in the bible?

I have been thinking on this question since it was posted. There are so many to like. And to make things more difficult so many specific qualities of individual characters that are remarkable. I love that David was a musician, a shepherd, a king, a warrior, he was not defined by one thing. I love John the Baptist and his absolute wild identity. Living purely and pointing to the coming of Jesus; wearing a fur, eating locusts and honey. I can't give you a real answer, but I love this question.

Music is an essential piece of the Christian life. It lifts up God in His glory. It brings the Holy Spirit alive inside of us. It lights a fire in the heart that spreads throughout everywhere and everyone that it reaches. What are some of your go to songs? How do you glorify God? What songs ignite the holy Spirit inside you? What gets you moving? Heals the pain? Awakens the lion inside? Share a few, share what they do for you, what they mean to you. Music is what brought me to Christ and finally made me fall on my face in surrender. I look forward to hearing what you all bring to the table.

This has been one of my most recent regularly played songs. https://youtu.be/ja2mUmEfopE?si=_rQROadbHY_Mb3JB I absolutely LOVE this band. They tend to ride the line of Christian music, but are absolutely great! https://youtu.be/OOjpkqrCEOU?si=162BdnislVfBBLCg Just another one of my personal favorites. Song and band both. https://youtu.be/AfY7CGU8sck?si=1ihvYsfcdsT_yLBm I could go on for days with this. I listen to more music since I found Jesus than I ever did before, and I have always been huge into music. These are just a few to get started.
