Working on streamlining things here...
TL;DR: I'm going to fix somethings here/ streamline - you're input is requested... Please take the poll! It's been made aware to me that I need to help you know how to go from point A to point B, etc within this community. 😒 Life has often gotten in the way of me helping this community to be what my vision for it was almost two years ago, when I started it. Part of me feels like it should be farther along than it is, but wisdom says instead focusing on what isn't or what hasn't worked thus far, instead let's focus on what is working and how to improve it upon that... 🙂 So I want to cut anything that doesn't need to be here (cut out the fluff), remove anything that is confusing or that isn't streamlined, and make the flow here a lot more obvious and easier to navigate. With all that being said, how can I improve what is offered here? 🙄 I'm taking every and all suggestions to soft relaunch this community, because I myself and a few others see the potential here. 😃 What would you like to see more of here: Please take the poll: 👇

The problem with the paid offers in the classroom is there is not enough information about what you actually get for the price (a Skool limitation). Your priciest offer gives the best clue because I at least know it's 6 weeks. I don't know if the other items are one session or something else. I think you need a pinned post that helps better catalogue what you have in your classroom (replace the Birthday one maybe). The Start Here course in your classroom needs to be focused on the same thing, and not mixed with a beginner guitar offering (keep that separate). Maybe think of some ways you might offer a visual roadmap of someone's guitar learning journey to help orient them on where they are today and where they should go next. You could have multiple roadmaps, depending on how you choose to group and categorize things, but I'd say don't pick more than three. I'm sharing a screenshot as an example. This roadmap represents 3 months of training with various touchpoints, and I use it in presentations to reinforce that I actually have a system and a plan that folks can plug into. All this to say, I think your challenge is less about all you do/should offer next - and more about how you organize what you already have in a way that makes it easier for people to buy and self-identify (but I think you might already know that 😀).
Lessons From a First Open Mic Night
@Melvin Williams encouraged me to post this after my quick chat with him - so let me first acknowledge the recording isn't that great, but it's one of two songs that I pulled off a few weeks ago... while completely failing at a third. And I mean FAIL. Total choke to the point of blanking on words I knew and not even being able to finish the song. Fortunately, it was a crowd of around 30 totally forgiving people. While I've dabled with guitar since I was a teenager, I only started singing earlier this year (which has actually resulted in more and better guitar playing). As Melvin shared regarding my public meltdown (not in the recording provided), "that's how you learn." And I'll just say I have mad respect for him and all who choose to perform in front of others! Ok to the lessons: 1. Might sound stupid, but stay hydrated and not with alcohol! Seriously drink more water than you normally might because it not only greases your vocals but helps you stay focused. 2. When you screw up, don't stop playing. Just keep going because it's NEVER as bad as you think it is but it NEVER sounds good when the music abruptly stops. I know, cuz that's what I did! My buddy who was there gave me some good advice. Basically, have an exit plan. Not an exit from the building, mind you, but one from the song. Example: You know you're blowing it...so you decide to just repeat the chords a bit. Maybe you introduce some humming or head to the chorus earlier than you should to collect yourself. 3. Adrenaline can be regulated to an extent with deep breaths... and I noticed at one point that I was failing to breath. Just sitting there exhaled and then thinking, "jeez, I should take a breath." The brain is a funny thing. When I realized I was forgetting the words, I had a million thoughts enter at once: "You are imploding now. You are embarrassing yourself and your family. Look at your wife there recording you fail. You practiced so much, how could you do this?"... and on and on!

@Ricardo Ponce Thanks brother! It just got to a point where I had to end it before I melted on that uncomfortable stool that was also killing me softly.

@Rylan Lacroix Thank you! The three songs I've got lined up for my next one: 1. Rodeo Clowns (Jack Johnson) 2. Meet Me in the Woods (Lord Huron) 3. Skyway (The Replacements) A potential alternative I might go with is "Don't Panic" (a Coldplay classic also on the Garden State soundtrack)

I did my first open mic night last week! Been thinking I need to hop on a call like this (got another one I have to jump on instead unfortunately)
Interesting video about Jimi...
I knew most of it, may not be 100% accurate, but it's pretty close... the headline is clickbait for sure..
