Brokered load
Some days I miss driving. What if I were to broker a load to a diff. company, and drive their truck to pickup/deliver? Seems like there should be no issues here but what are your thoughts?

legally I do not believe brokers can touch the freight, if I'm not mistaken they aren't allowed to touch it, load it, drive it or unload it. Now, hiring a carrier, who lets you drive the load...may be in the grey.
Take a moment...
Driving back from Vegas yesterday morning we were notified by the AZ DOT that the 93 Southbound from Kingman to Wikenburg was closed due to a Fatal Semi accident. This stretch of road is called blood alley for a reason....Ive never been behind the wheel so I can't speak from experience but Pops drove for 40 years, sometimes we forget just how dangerous of a job these drivers have, so from me to you, we see you out there!!

@Nick Padgett My mom lives in Laughlin, we travel that road several times a year, its always a scary 100 mile stretch

@Michael DeMarco OMG Im so sorry Michael, it's a thankless job and we can/should do a better job recognizing the drivers for what they actually do.
Its going to be a great day
GM ladies and gents of the freight world, have yourselves an amazing day today and remember, nothing is permanent, not this market, not this economy and especially not your hair...lol

I had hair before I was a broker, I'm blaming the dang industry.
Gaining Local Business
Anyone done any local advertising or mail campaigns to gain or entice local businesses to have a conversation with you? If so have you found anything that works? I really like @Jason Rabine postcard idea.

just dont walk into the warehouse of the husqvarna logistics managers office, he doesn't want mail, text, calls, email or walk ins....poor guys sounds like he hates everyone.

Post cards are great for people not in your area, walk ins or even scheduling an apt is a great way to gain exposure over all the emails these people get.
