Hi Greg, Thanks for joining!
Torque1 won't turn on
I have a Torque1 which stopped working. It won't turn on with the controller on the handlebars. It is stored outside and I think that water got into the controller and caused corrosion or something. I've disassembled it and parts appear corroded inside. The battery appears to be fine. Is there any way I could get a new display/controller?

Hello! Sorry to hear about the trouble. The controller is underneath the battery at the bottom of the frame, is that what you are referring to? If you can include a picture showing the corrosion you are referring to that would understand what you are referring to. Thank you!

@Mark Spohr We have the display on the website here: https://ridescoozy.com/products/t1-components.html?searchid=7580&search_query=T1
LCD Computer
My LCD computer goes blank. It will turn on and function as if the display was showing me information on assistance, amps, and battery level, but it is totally whited out. This is the second unit I’ve put on the bike and it is less than a year old. It was not cheap. I store the bike in my garage, out of the weather. Is there a way to fix this or a work around of some sort. Thanks, Matt

Hello! A blank display means it is not getting any power, similar to unplugging the cord to your TV. This does not indicate that the display is bad (unless you see damage or know it has been damaged), or that the battery is not charged (the display can always light up even with a dead battery). You must trace back to see where the loss of power can be, based on the parts of a bike: -Display is plugged in correctly -Wiring harness isn't damaged (twisting handlebars can damage the wire) -Connector at controller is plugged in tight -Battery pins inside bottom of battery are not damaged -Fuse is not loose within battery If you can get it to turn on, basically just want to jiggle each part to see what causes it to lose power: the display or connector, the wire itself, the battery, or the controller.
Pedal Arm comes Loose
I have had problems with the pedal arm coming loose to the point where the it gets worn and will not hold any longer. I am tightening with to the maximum point using Loctite. However it is not blue colored originally sent with the bike it is clear “superglue “. I would like to buy more crank arms just to have. I am on my 4 th arm now and luckily it has not come loose in the last 100 miles! What do you advise?

Hello! Yes thank you Marc. Questions like this are exactly why we are building this community and the "Classroom" section that will address these questions. As a reminder, the parts that we have available are on our website: ridescoozy.com, you can also find parts on sites such as ebay.com or amazon.com Since we do not have the "Paid" version available yet, to answer your question: once a pedal arm comes loose it needs to be replaced, no matter how many times you tighten it down you will have to replace it as the steel has warped the softer aluminum. When installing a new arm, please use blue loc tite with the crank arm bolts and make sure to torque them down to 20-25ft-lbs. If you do not torque them down this much they will eventually come off as well. -Ride Scoozy Support

Help Us Build the Ultimate E-Bike Survival Guide (What do YOU need?)
Hello everyone! As mentioned in our welcome post, we are currently building the deep-dive modules for the Paid Membership launching at the end of this month. We have a solid curriculum planned (covering motor internals, controller swaps, and advanced electronics), but before we wrap up production, we want to ensure we aren't missing your specific headache. We are building this curriculum for YOU. So, I have a question: What is the one thing about your e-bike that confuses or worries you the most? Maybe it is: - 🔌 Understanding what "Amps" and "Volts" actually mean for your range? - 🛑 Fixing a hydraulic brake that feels "squishy"? - ⚠️ Deciphering a specific Error Code on your display? - 🔋 How to safely test your battery health with a multimeter? Drop a comment below with your request. 👇 If you have a specific topic you want to see covered in the upcoming advanced series, let us know now so we can film it and get it into the library. We are using our engineering background to solve your real-world problems. Let’s build the best e-bike resource on the internet, together. Ride Safe
