A question about the group name
I feel at times “Stumpwork” is too niche.. which is why I added “and more” but maybe potential new members don’t realize what the “and more” part means? I am teaching how to make it, but also I’m gearing up for needle painting lessons. Should I also include traditional embroidery stitches and rename the group something like “Stumpwork, Needle Painting and Stitching”? What do you think?

Sounds perfect to me!
How many WIPs do you have?
I was thinking since tomorrow is WIP WED how many works do you have that never got done? Are there any you want to finish? How old is your oldest WIP? What would encourage you to start it again? I think my problem is that I have way too many ideas. But I have a few main ones that I’m keeping. I’m trying to keep down the euphoria of having a new idea because it’s kind of like having a crush. Haha It doesn’t mean I’ll go through with it.

@LeAnn Sagel That is beautiful!
My April Challenge! 🦒🎁
I made this for @Jen Toll because she likes sashiko and boro style. All of it is hand sewn. I used leftover fabric and hand dyed sashiko threads from Kanazawa. I can send it happily in an envelope. It’s a coaster 🙂

Why do you embroider?
What drew you to embroidery? What keeps you going? What inspires you to make more? For me, my mom life is a bit nuts, and embroidery is my quiet time when the kids are at school and I don’t have to think about mom things for a bit.

It gives me peace. Any kind of handwork calms me.
WORK IN PROGRESS WEDNESDAY!
I can only show what I’m working on. Sorry it hasn’t changed much. I added her hands and now I’m working on her neck. Also I have a new project lined up. I asked a friend who is a professional photographer if I could use his photo for my next project. He took a series of dancing models but under long exposure. The result was a huge panorama. Here is just one of his photos. We met today and he said yes!

I am retired and enjoy all kind of needlework. This keeps my mind active and hands busy! Just started WP Oddessey and Stumpwork. Fun learning!
