When I was nineteen all I wanted to do was succeed, win, and be the best. To acquire the money, status, and material success. Around 23 I began to question if these desires were truly mine, or if they were simply something I was told was important. The challenging emotions, anxiety, and psychological issues I was experiencing were a direct result of my choices. Many of these issues were arising due the the fact that I was not engaging in truly fulfilling activities. This led to compensation through distraction, poor nutritional, and lifestyle choices. So if these superficial desires do not really create happiness, then what does? Through the support of many great teachers in my life, I realized having a big dream is the start of all lifestyle change. By aligning with something meaningful in itself, we are able to make the important sacrifices necessary to actualize it. Sacrifice: to make sacred through prioritization. The beauty actually exists in each moment and in the process we are engaging in. There is nothing to seek outside of ourself. That being said if we were meant to do nothing, we could have just been a rock instead. True health comes from the sharing and utilization of our gifts in service. In the modern world we have access to many unique ways to share our story, our art, and our gifts. There are even many emerging opportunities to make money in the world outside of the conventional 9-5 structure. We are incredibly blessed to explore these alternative careers as a method of service and working towards a goal that aligns with our personal values. I am very grateful to have each and everyone of you here, I know that you all carry a specific piece of the puzzle. Without your presence we would have a puzzle with a missing piece.
