TUESDAY’S BOSS BUSINESS LESSON — OCTOBER 20, 2026
ARE YOU REALLY READY TO EXPAND YOUR BUSINESS? Hey Bosses! 👋🏽💕 Today’s lesson is about making smart decisions before taking your business to the next level. 📰 THE BUSINESS NEWS The NFIB reported that only 7% of surveyed small-business owners believed September was a good time to expand. Meanwhile, a separate SBE Council survey found that 81% of respondents said their businesses were meeting or exceeding their financial expectations. These findings come from different surveys, but they raise an important question. Can your business be doing well without being ready to expand? Absolutely. 🎓 TODAY’S BOSS LESSON Before expanding, evaluate four areas: 1. Customer Demand: Do enough people want your product or service? 2. Business Systems: Can your current operations support additional customers? 3. Financial Readiness: Can you afford the expenses associated with growth? 4. Testing: Can you try the idea on a smaller scale first? Remember, expansion is not the only measurement of business progress. Improving customer satisfaction, reducing unnecessary expenses, and creating better systems are also meaningful achievements. 📝 TODAY’S ACTION CHALLENGE THE 20-MINUTE GROWTH READINESS AUDIT Step 1: Write down one area where you want your business to grow. Step 2: Identify evidence that customers want or need that growth. Step 3: List one expense or challenge associated with expanding. Step 4: Choose one small action you can test over the next seven days. If you haven’t launched yet, use this challenge to examine the readiness of your business idea. 💬 YOUR TURN! Which area needs the most attention in your business? A. Getting more customers B. Improving systems and organization C. Managing expenses and cash flow D. Preparing to expand E. I’m still developing my business idea Share your answer and one action you’re willing to take this week. Bosses, progress isn’t always about doing more. Sometimes it’s about doing what matters more effectively. 🎯 Stop sitting on the goal. Start working the plan.™

TUESDAY’S BOSS BUSINESS LESSON — OCTOBER 20, 2026
📰 MONDAY’S BOSS BUSINESS LESSON
October 19, 2026 TODAY’S TOPIC: AI, CYBERSECURITY & RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS LEADERSHIP Hey Bosses! 👋🏽💕 We’re starting the week with an important conversation about protecting our businesses. 📰 THE BUSINESS NEWS Reuters reported today that AI agents were used in a hacking campaign targeting more than 1,200 websites. The National Cybersecurity Alliance has also reported that many small businesses have gaps between their confidence in cybersecurity and their actual preparedness. Here’s why this matters. As entrepreneurs adopt more digital tools, we need to understand how those tools interact with our business information. 🎓 TODAY’S BOSS LESSON Three questions to ask before using a new AI tool: 1. What information does it need? Only provide the access necessary to complete the task. 2. What decisions can it make? Keep human oversight for financial transactions and sensitive activities. 3. How will I protect my business? Use strong account security, review permissions, and maintain appropriate backups. 📝 TODAY’S BOSS ACTION CHALLENGE THE 15-MINUTE DIGITAL SAFETY CHECK Step 1: Identify three apps or AI tools connected to your business. Step 2: Check whether multifactor authentication is enabled on your primary business email. Step 3: Review the access permissions for one connected app. Step 4: Write down one improvement you can implement this week. If you haven’t started your business yet, create a simple digital safety checklist for your future operations. 💬 YOUR TURN! Which area do you feel most confident about? A. Password and account security B. Protecting customer information C. Managing AI and app permissions D. I need to learn more about all three! Drop your answer in the comments. No need to share any private account details! Bosses, building a business is an achievement. Protecting what you’re building is part of leadership. 🎯 Stop sitting on the goal. Start working the plan.™ — Janeah Davis Founder | Boss Conversations Academy Sources: Reuters, October 19, 2026; National Cybersecurity Alliance, August 18, 2026.

📰 MONDAY’S BOSS BUSINESS LESSON
📰 FRIDAY'S BOSS BUSINESS LESSON
October 16, 2026 TODAY'S TOPIC: ARE YOUR SALES REALLY GROWING? Hey Bosses! 👋🏽💕 Today we're talking about understanding the numbers behind your business. 📰 THE BUSINESS NEWS Yesterday, the U.S. Census Bureau reported that September retail and food services sales increased 0.8%. However, sales excluding gasoline stations increased just 0.2%. The National Retail Federation also released its holiday forecast, projecting a 4.2% increase in November–December retail spending compared with 2025. These reports remind us why understanding consumer spending matters. 🎓 THE BOSS LESSON Three business numbers you should understand: 1. Revenue: The total money generated from sales. 2. Sales volume: The number of products or services sold. 3. Profit: The money remaining after business expenses. Here's a quick example: You sell 100 products for $20 each. Your revenue is $2,000. The next month, you sell 90 products for $24 each. Your revenue increases to $2,160. Your revenue grew, but you actually sold fewer products. That's why it's important to look beyond the total amount of money coming in. 📝 TODAY'S BOSS ACTION CHALLENGE THE 15-MINUTE BUSINESS DEMAND CHECK Step 1: Identify your most popular product or service. Step 2: Review how many sales or bookings you've received recently. Step 3: Examine your selling price and expenses. Step 4: Identify one change you can test to improve your business performance. If you haven't started your business yet, use estimated numbers and practice the exercise. 💬 YOUR TURN! Which business number do you currently understand best? A. Revenue B. Sales volume C. Profit margin D. I'm still learning all three! Drop your answer in the comments and tell us what you would like to learn next. Bosses, financial understanding is part of business leadership. 🎯 Stop sitting on the goal. Start working the plan.™ — Janeah Davis Founder | Boss Conversations Academy Sources: U.S. Census Bureau, October 15, 2026: https://www.census.gov/retail/sales.html

📰 FRIDAY'S BOSS BUSINESS LESSON
📰 THE BOSS BUSINESS LESSON
Thursday, October 15, 2026 TODAY'S TOPIC: SMALL BUSINESS, BIGGER CAPABILITIES Hey Bosses! 👋🏽💕 On October 14, the Small Business & Entrepreneurship Council published an analysis showing how digital tools, AI, and online platforms are helping small businesses expand their capabilities. Its 2026 survey found that 82% of surveyed small-business employers were using AI tools. 🎓 THE BOSS LESSON Before purchasing another subscription or implementing another system, ask yourself: 1. What specific business problem am I trying to solve? 2. What improvement do I expect? 3. How will I measure whether it's working? 📝 TODAY'S BOSS ACTION CHALLENGE: THE 20-MINUTE BUSINESS SYSTEMS AUDIT Minutes 1–5: Identify one repetitive business task. Minutes 6–10: Estimate how much time it takes each week. Minutes 11–15: Research one way to improve the process. Minutes 16–20: Write down one action you can test this week. You don't have to purchase anything. If you're still planning your business, choose a task you expect to handle regularly. 💬 YOUR TURN! Which area needs the most improvement? A. Marketing and content creation B. Customer communication C. Scheduling and organization D. Financial tracking E. I'm still planning my business Drop your answer in the comments and tell us why! You don't need a bigger business to start building better systems. 🎯 Stop sitting on the goal. Start working the plan.™ — Janeah Davis Founder | Boss Conversations Academy Source: SBE Council, October 14, 2026 https://sbecouncil.org/2026/10/14/scale-without-size-digital-tools-and-platforms-are-expanding-the-reach-and-power-of-small-businesses/

📰 THE BOSS BUSINESS LESSON
🎓 BOSS BUSINESS LESSON: IS YOUR BUSINESS READY FOR THE FUTURE? Hey Bosses! 👋🏽
Today we're talking about something every entrepreneur needs to understand: Technology can help your business grow, but only when you know how to use it strategically. Here's some interesting business news! The U.S. Chamber of Commerce's 2026 technology report found that 66% of surveyed small businesses are using artificial intelligence. But here's another important finding from a separate report released this week: Some businesses are introducing AI tools faster than they can establish proper oversight. So what does that mean for us? It means we need to learn two things: How to use technology AND how to manage it responsibly. 📚 TODAY'S MINI-LESSON 1️⃣ IDENTIFY A BUSINESS PROBLEM. Before purchasing software or introducing AI, determine what needs improvement. Examples: - Spending too much time writing emails - Forgetting customer follow-ups - Struggling to organize business information - Having difficulty planning content 2️⃣ SELECT THE RIGHT SOLUTION. Research tools that address your specific problem. Compare cost, ease of use, security, and whether they actually save time. 3️⃣ ESTABLISH ACCOUNTABILITY. If you're using AI, remember that you remain responsible for the results. Review important information, protect customer data, and don't automate decisions you don't understand. 4️⃣ MEASURE THE RESULTS. Ask yourself: Did this tool save time? Did it improve quality? Did it reduce errors? Did it help me serve customers more effectively? If not, reconsider your approach. 📝 YOUR BOSS CHALLENGE: THE 20-MINUTE BUSINESS TECHNOLOGY AUDIT Today, I want you to: ✅ Identify one repetitive task in your business. ✅ Estimate how much time it takes each week. ✅ Research one tool or system that could help. ✅ Write down one potential benefit and one possible risk. ✅ Decide whether it's worth testing. You don't have to purchase anything today. The goal is to practice thinking like a business owner who builds systems instead of simply managing tasks. 💬 YOUR TURN! Tell us in the comments:
