Hi everyone, I’m Jane and I source property deals for investors in the East Midlands along with my daughter. Looking for tips on how to start doing videos.

Welcome to you too Lydia.
Who’s your favourite radio DJ?
The reason I ask, is that for most people, their favourite DJ is someone who seems to be talking to them - personally! It’s a style used by most radio DJ’s - and also YouTubers. It’s about ‘engaging’ your audience. My tips on this are: 1. When recording a video, imagine it’s one of best friends that’s sitting opposite you - and talk as if you’re speaking only to them! 2. Think about it. Unless, (for some reason), your video is being played at a public gathering - in a bar, it’s most likely that it’s being watched by individuals. That’s who you need to engage with. 3. Unless you’re posting into a small Social Media group, never start a video with, ‘Hi Guys’. Doing that is a 1->Many style - which will immediately lower your chances of engaging with your viewer. I hope that helps. I welcome your comments!

5 Tips to build camera confidence.
So here are 5 Tips you can implement today, to speed up and finally discover the confidence to record engaging content for your videos. Tip #1 - Practice Makes Perfect đŸ’ȘđŸŒ The only way to discover how to optimize how you look and sound in front of a camera is to just PRESS RECORD. It’s just like working out in the gym. The more you lift a certain weight, the easier it becomes because your muscles have grown to make that weight feel lighter. So put in those reps! Tip #2 - Realise That Everyone Goes Through This 💯 Understand that everybody goes through this discomfort when they first start recording themselves. Even the most confident creators we watch on a daily basis have gone through this feeling. So just know you’re not alone, and that you will get through this phase as a video creator! Tip #3 - Move Your LCD Screen Behind the Camera đŸ“· It’s almost second nature as a new creator to want to face your lcd screen on your camera towards you. So you can see yourself at all times. This is a big distraction and can actually deter viewers away from your content. Because no viewer wants to watch a video where the creator is constantly looking at themselves on the viewfinder. Tip #4 - Imagine That You’re Talking To a Friend 😊 Finding it hard to speak to a camera? Change the perspective on who you’re recording this video for. Imagine that you’ve recorded footage to be sent to a friend. When you shift your perspective to this, you’ll almost forget you’re talking to a camera. It’ll feel like an engaging conversation with someone familiar! Tip #5 - Just Be Yourself 👍 Anyone who has watched great content on YouTube understands how genuine and authentic the creator is in their videos. That’s because these YouTubers understand that being themselves is the best way to create engaging, and entertaining content! Don’t know how to bring that entertaining side out of you? Just think about how you act in your most energetic state around family and friends, and mimic that personality!

@Michael Bray thank you for these great tips.
It’s behind you!
This is a pet topic of mine. It’s a screenshot of an expert on a particular subject live on tv news. The problem is, if you have a bookcase behind you, guess what? Viewers are concentrating more on which books you have - more than what you’re saying. While this example is from tv news, it’s also relevant to video and also Zoom calls. I do appreciate that sometimes there may be no alternative, but beware of what’s behind you - and the distraction it may cause!

Is there not a background you can add before doing videos and zoom calls?
Website or Sales Funnel?
At the risk of being hunted down by website developers, while I do accept the need for a website, the sales funnel - that’s external to the website should be your priority. If someone has seen your ad or your video and ready to purchase, then why send them to a website - where they potentially get lost reading (most likely) outdated content. Instead, have a purpose built sales funnel focused on exactly what’s needed to complete the order. Sure, have a website for general stuff - but be honest, how often do you update it with current information? Beg to differ? Let me know your thoughts

I have to agree a sales funnel is most important to generate leads. I often get sent a link to a website and to be honest never really look as like you say there's too much information to look through.

I run a property business with my daughter. We've invested into a mentor, property training courses and personal development. The only way is up!
