Being a Father in the Digital Age
Hey Dads! How do you set healthy boundaries for screen time in your family? Navigating and maintaining a healthy balance of screen time is an active practice. I am a photographer so sitting at the computer editing takes up much of my week. Plus I love to consume all forms of media, from movies to TikTok reels and of course Youtube. Currently teaching myself petrol engine mechanics through youtube in the hopes I will fix my 2001 Toyota Hilux. My point is that if I am not careful I can go overboard with the amount of screen time. There are no doubt challenges and opportunities of raising kids in a digital world. How do you guys help your kids do it in a healthy way? Getting this right as an adult is tricky already. After all our children will learn and adopt our approach to self care. Be it emotional health or digital health. We set the example. Look forward to hearing your feelings and ideas on this one. There is no perfect world and we all do things differently. Sharing views on challenging topics can be very enlightening.

Great post @Richard Makin-Taylor I am very wary of using technology too much too soon in the earlier years of his life. With the world we live in now developing so fast on a technology front, it will become a large apart of their lives one way or another so I feel they shouldn't be fully restricted, however, having a healthy relationship with/understanding the numerous social media platforms will be crucial to ensure their mental health doesn't get impacted in a negative way. As you said, we will be their role models and I will be very conscious of my own actions. Keen to hear any tips from anyone, whilst willing to share my own experiences when the time comes!

Pretty much exactly the same as the scales suggested. I'm personally not surprised and actually expected to be worse off due to a few factors hampering training, a mini holiday and lack of routine really affecting my eating habits. That being said, it does give me confidence for the near future when training should be able to commence and starting work will help me overall to be honest. It's great seeing how motivated everyone is to becoming a good role model for their child and being a great father figure. @Douglas Robson Thankyou! You have created something you should be very proud of
