Check out our new course on adding fractions !
Hi everyone ! We believe that students only struggle at Math because the basics are not solid, yet. Everyone is a math person. Everyone can do math if they get the basics mastered. To that end, we will be creating a series of courses for this community teaching the basics. They will be short videos, with practice problems to reinforce the videos. We promise that each concept will be around 5 minutes of videos, and 5 minutes of practice. We have just added a new course on adding fractions. Please take a look and give us feedback ! https://www.skool.com/primemath/classroom

🆕 New Course: Fractions – Basics Explained in 5 Minutes
As you know by now, this community is built on a belief that students struggle in Math because they have a weakness in the basics. We are going to build a series of basics explainers. We will explain Math concepts in ~5 1 minute videos (so 5 minutes total) with quick practice questions accompanying each. Our first series just went up in the classroom, and it's on one of the most common elementary school Math challenges - Fractions. If your child is struggling with fractions - at any level - this is where to start. 👉 Head to the Classroom tab, watch the video, and please give us feedback ! https://www.skool.com/primemath/classroom

Parents of middle schoolers: College success is being shaped NOW!
Did you know that 8th-grade math scores predict college outcomes more than almost anything else? 📊 New research shows that students who reach Advanced level in 8th-grade math are: ✅ Nearly 3x more likely to attend college 🎯 6x more likely to earn a 4-year degree That gap doesn't close in high school. It opens in middle school. 👀 . The path to this is NOT about some inherent talent you can't change. It's about mastering basics by the end of middle school (even better, in elementary school). See below for some more thoughts on how to get your child on the right track 👇

1️⃣ Find out your child's current math level — not just their grade, but where they actually sit against national benchmarks 2️⃣ Identify the specific gaps holding them back (it's almost never everything — usually 2-3 key concepts) 3️⃣ Build a plan to close those gaps before 8th grade, not during it I am happy to help on 1,2 and 3 - we can supply free materials to do all of this. Just comment "advanced" below and I'll help you out !
Is your child struggling with speed on Math tests ?
Is your child "good at math" but "slow at tests"? It’s often a working memory bottleneck. If a student has to 'think' about 6 times 7, they have less brain power available to think about the 3step word problem they are trying to solve. We don't drill times tables to be "mean." We do it to set their focus free for the interesting stuff. Does your child (or your students) struggle to instantly recall multiplication tables ? Even beyond grade 3 ? (No judgment—it’s a vital diagnostic clue!) Let me know in the comments. 👇
