Forgetting and Remembering
This has been a not good week for following the instructions. I think about eating mindfully occasionally, just not when I'm eating. I've gotten in the habit of eating either at my desk during the day or in front of the TV at night. Which results in constant distraction. On a more meta level, the same is true most everywhere else. There is usually an audiobook, a podcast, or music playing in the background from the time I get up to the time I go to bed. Working on something during meetings. It's been really challenging to just do one thing at a time and eliminating the self-created distractions.

Noticing
What I noticed during the body scan meditation is how much I've been ignoring what's going on in my body. Not judging like good or bad, just noticing that the muscles in my legs and back are tight and maybe it's time to start the practice of stretching again. The only time I pay attention is when there is some kind of sharp pain that really forces its way into my awareness.
