Needing Some Help
Hello everyone, I just have a few questions for everyone here. I'm stuck and really needing some helpful tips. I'm having such a hard time actually creating codes from scratch when Mae asks me to do them in the python coder. I can handle the basics but now that I have gotten further into the Software Engineering Principles classes, I'm suck, I'm still trying to use if elif else scenarios and I know that's not what it is asking for. I'm just lost and feeling defeated right now so if you guys have any helpful tips or any ways that you have used to help you through, please let me know. I hope everyone has a great Memorial Day!

@James Hart This is super true... I am in OOP now (final review by tomorrow and I still have 3 lessons to go - oops lol), but, it's definitely clicking a lot better now. Not all the way there, but it's feeling good.
Aid disbursement… anyone had this happen??? 🤨🤔😅
Soooo… I waited a while for money to come in from my loan refund. May 7th it finally hit… Awesome!!! Then two weeks later another one hit. Cool! Figured it was just time for the next one since the first one took a bit to arrive. Now, exactly one week later, I get ANOTHER deposit??? I mean, I’m happy, I’ll take it. lol 😂 but it also has me a little nervous and worried… 😅🥴🤦🏼‍♀️ Like is it just all coming back to back and nothing more until like fall? Ooorrrrr… did someone on their side make a boo-boo? 😅 Anyone else had theirs come in back to back like this??

Feeling discouraged....
So, I am in the AI Software Engineering program and started in January. At first, I was excited. And I still am to a point - but the more lessons I take (specifically the coding related ones - the general education classes are fine), the more I feel like it will never "click" in my brain. Like, when will I be able to connect this to the real world and a job I might someday be able to get? I see others posting about projects or other things they are working on, or sharing articles on stuff and there is just no way any of that makes any sense to me yet; might as well be in German. Since this program is all online and all with AI teachers and there is no real word interaction - it's hard to feel like I am actually learning the information, rather than just going through the motions - you know what I mean? Even with the practice sessions - it just feels like I am regurgitating information and not actually learning. I learn way better in a classroom setting - in person - but there is obviously no way I would be able to attend actual classes at a brick and mortar school. It would take me 8 years to get a 2 year degree that way. Given that this is a brand new field for me, I know there is a learning curve that I have to deal with; but at what point will it start to feel "real"? If that makes any sense... 🫤

For my lessons last week - I had a bunch of personal stuff going on and wasn't able to keep up and last night I stayed up until almost 2am (EST time - so it was within Maestro's time cutoff of 11:59pm PT) to finish them on time and it basically was just like clicking through and going through the motions - it was only the second week of PY103 so the review as pass/fail so I took it a few times to get it all correct, so that was okay. But, it still just made me feel rushed and out of control. Trying to get a head start today on lessons to avoid this again lol...

@James Hart well, if it's all about the logic, I get that for sure. It's really the remember exactly the right methods and operators and whatever else...like I can tell you what it needs to do, sometimes just can't remember how to tell it to do that lol
Mystery switch
UPDATE i just noticed this on my profile on the Maestro platform Early access Beta Get early access to experimental features. Does anyone know what it is? It has a toggle switch but I dont know what it is for I went to student services and asked and here is the answer: Great eye catching that toggle! The early access switch lets you try out new features and improvements on the platform before they’re released to everyone. If you turn it on, you might see updates or tools sooner than other students. It’s optional—if you like trying new things, feel free to use it! Let me know if you want help deciding whether to turn it on, or have questions about what you’ll see.
