When The Lights Go Down In The Shelter.
🐾 When The Lights Go Down 🐾 A song written for every dog waiting in a shelter tonight. When the lights go down in the shelter, And the people are all gone, I curl up in my bed and think of, The home I once had. This song started as a writing exercise and turned into something that broke my heart a little. It's told from the point of view of a shelter dog who lost his owner, ended up on the road with nowhere to go, until the shelter found him. There are good dogs in shelters right now who did nothing wrong. Some lost their owners. Some were found hungry and alone. They just need someone to open the door. 🐾 Could that someone be you? Visit your local shelter today. Share this if it moved you. Someone on your friends list might be ready to adopt and not even know it yet. Please share. Please adopt. Please donate. Your local shelter needs you. When The Lights Go Down [Verse 1] When the lights go down in the shelter, And the people are all gone, I curl up in my bed and think of, The home I once had. Oh, oh, oh. [Verse 2] So you think you're lonely? Well my friend, I'm lonely too. I once had a home, Where I was loved every day, Until my owner passed away. Whoa, oh, oh. [Chorus] It's sad when you're out on the road with no home, Scrounging for food, Just trying to survive another day, Wishing someone would take you in, And show you the way. Oh, oh, oh. [Bridge] Then the shelter found me, Took me in, And gave me breakfast. Oh, my, my. A warm bowl waiting, A soft bed, A kind hand on my head, For the first time, In so long. Whoa, oh, oh. [Chorus] It's sad when you're out on the road with no home, Scrounging for food, Just trying to survive another day, Wishing someone would take you in, And show you the way. Oh, oh, oh. [Outro] When the lights come up in the morning, And the door swings open wide, Maybe today will be different, Maybe today, Someone takes me home. Oh, oh, oh. Promotion Hub

🧠 Late Night Brain Teaser
A little reflection for tonight… What’s something that still makes your stomach do a tiny flip of nerves — even as an adult? It could be anything. Let’s hear it. 👀

I'm a Believer
I thought posting on the Hub was just a fairytale, made for someone else, but not for me. How was I to know it only cost a couple bucks to join, And I’d get to help the animals along the way. Then I joined the Hub, now I'm a believer Every doubt I had just slipped out of my mind. Now I’m in — yeah, I'm a believer, I couldn't leave her if I tried, Promotion Hub

Please Help Us Name This Cat. The Laundromat Cat — Female, Calico This female calico survived by sleeping on warm dryers and charming customers with head bumps. When the building changed owners, pets weren’t allowed anymore. A regular scooped her up and brought her to the shelter, saying, “She deserves more than lint and leftovers.” Now she kneads blankets like they’re fresh laundry. Help us name her. Drop your best name below.
