Ambulance Jobs near Santa Cruz County
Does anyone know any good ambulance companies near Santa Cruz county? I’m willing to travel over a county and I’ve got some companies in mind, but figured it wouldn’t hurt to ask y’all. Thanks!

Any advice on becoming a Fire Fighter Paramedic?
Hello everyone, I’ll soon be able to get into IFT and I was just wondering what the best path for becoming a Fire Fighter Paramedic is. I’ve been told to go through ambulance work into medical school and THEN go into Fire. I’m pretty sure that’s the easiest way, but I have an opportunity to get into Fire academy next year. I just don’t know where I’ll be by the time academy is over and if I can be with the department that would pay for it. I’m guessing I’m asking if it’s worth it to do academy while working in an ambulance or if it’s smarter to focus on ambulance work. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Hi and thanks for the welcome Ray! I’m over in Santa Cruz, I’ve actually got some friends in Sacramento, that’s dope you’re there! Yeah, one of the battalion chiefs at the fire station that I was looking to volunteer for essentially just told me to go through medic school first and then do fire fighting after. I know that’s the right path, I’ve just gotten really excited about fire fighting because the volunteer department that I live by allows trainings that the public can oversee and sometimes participate in. It’s been a cool experience and I would love to volunteer there, it’s just that fire academy is such a time commitment. Although if I’m going to do fire down the line anyway, wouldn’t it be beneficial to get academy done with as soon as possible? I know I definitely want to become a paramedic as soon as possible though, I’m just conflicted with what to go with haha

I’ve decided to stick with the department nearby. I figured it would be the most cost effective for me to do ambulances while doing the fire training and fire academy and eventually go paramedic. I was talking to someone who retired as a firefighter paramedic and he asked me what my long term goal was. The goal IS to be in the fire department and that helped me a lot with my decision. I think the fire service is my bread and butter so getting in on that ASAP is definitely what I wanna do
