I currently define clean books as transaction being categorized appropriately, accounts reconciled, and reports are able to give a financial picture to the client. One area I feel unsure about is onboarding a client and getting started - along with the sense of imposter syndrome. After this course, my standard will be to exceed the standard that client's expect as well as continuing to grow in my knowledge of accounting.
What Stood Out To You Most?
Some of you may have thought this course was just a refresher. Others learned accounting fundamentals for the first time. Tell us what your takeaway is from this course, and make sure to take your next step towards the goal you set when you planted your flag.

Newbie here as well. The thing that stood out to me is how each of the reports tell a different glimpse of one's financial picture.
I’m Transitioning This Community…
Hey everyone! I’m getting more acclimated to my new role, so you’ll start seeing more of me around here in the coming weeks. Thanks for your grace and patience during this time! It’s been awesome and wild, and I’m really excited about what this new role could mean for this community. With that said, I’m going to start transitioning the community to make it much more relevant and valuable to you. Here’s the vision: 1. Get Clients The majority of you have said you want help marketing and selling your services. In other words: you want to know how to get clients. My original plan was to get at least 5 clients in 90 days and document the process for you. With my new role, I can’t get my own clients anymore (part of our arrangement). But I can still help you get yours. For example, one thing I’m planning is a LinkedIn course showing you how to use LinkedIn to generate clients, along with other resources around marketing and sales. More to come on this, but let me know your thoughts. 2. Build Skills & Find Your Niche I want to help you become really good at what you do. I’ll be building resources around: • Bookkeeping for specific industries • Servicing different types of businesses • Niche-specific offerings • Accounting, bookkeeping, and FP&A practice books I’m a firm believer that riches are in the niches, especially when you’re starting out. I want you to be able to explore different industries, find a niche you like, and build the skills to serve it well. 3. Build a REAL Community I love hearing from you guys, but right now most of the posts are from me. I want to change that. I want this to become a place where you can connect with people in similar niches, share ideas, build relationships, and actually build businesses together. The vision is simple: Build Skills Build Relationships Build a Business I’ve even been thinking about challenges where members come together and build businesses based on what we learn here. There’s a LOT I want to do.

What Tools Do You Use?

I have been learning QBO thanks to several online trainings and Intuit's ProAdvisor platform. I'm also learning Xero. At the moment, nothing makes much sense as I'm not getting hands-on training with using the programs.
LinkedIn Is Beginning to Change My Life
Guys…. I can’t share full stories yet because they are still playing out. But all I will say is that my New Year’s Resolution this year was to post on LinkedIn everyday. And it is legitimately starting to change my life. I say this to encourage you. I’m only 8 months in. 1 post a day. Nothing crazy. Again, I will share the actual details soon of what I mean. But maybe this is your wake up call to start getting active on social media.
