Networking - Events and Resources
Hi everyone, I want to give everyone a space to share resources they know of or events they are doing. Please do not be salesy. This is not a sales page. But please let us know if you have any great webinars or other events that you are hosting or that you're excited to attend. I'll post a few in the comments below. It'd be great to learn from each other and expand our circles. Thanks!

I will be attending a free webinar tonight hosted by Margie Remmers-Davis, Founder and CEO Akadian Accounting Education. The Topic: How To Finally Say "YES" To Nonprofit Clients. I apologize I do not have a direct link so others can sign up. I think it popped up on my FB feed and I just signed up on the spot.
Networking - Tell us more about what you do!
Hey all, Please share more about what you do, and any cool projects or service offerings that you think would be helpful. Please do not be salesy. This is to be helpful and network with each other. No sales pitches (I will remove anything that gets pushy). Be kind and be helpful. Please feel free to add links to your websites or other resources you own. :) Thanks!

I started my virtual bookkeeping business in March of this year. I have a background in medical billing and enjoy working with numbers. I say my niche is helping medical and wellness practices with their bookkeeping needs but I am also open to working with other industries. I am working on adding more to my website https://www.penabookkeeping.net https://www.linkedin.com/in/penabookkeeping
Updates & September Plans!
Hey everyone! 📆 Would love to get your feedback on a few ideas I have for September. 📆 First off, thanks so much for joining in this adventure! I hope this space is useful for you. Below is a video walkthrough of how to navigate the community, as well as some ideas for the next weeks. Please post your comments below! Questions: 1) Do you have any content requests for the classroom? I'm working to build it out. 2) What webinar topics would be useful for you? There are a few really cool collaborations in the works--would love to know if they'd be helpful! 3) What days/times are best for a live webinar? I'll do my best to schedule for as many people as possible. Thank you so much, and Happy Weekend! Kari P.S. Special thanks to @Jalitza Pena and @Veritas Financial for joining today's "TGIF Social Hour"! We had a great chat about working with CPA firms and marketing, as well as just chatting about life. :)

E-Commerce Tech Stacks: How do you seamlessly bridge platforms like Stripe, Shopify or WooCommerce into QuickBooks Online? What automation tools (like A2X or Bookkeep) are worth the investment? I met with someone from Bookkeep so he could provide me with information that I can discuss with my client. I'm not familiar with A2X but if anyone is familiar with it I would appreciate any feedback.
Bookkeeping, but client doesn't have access to books
With the recent release of LedgerTB (https://ledgertb.com/ - free desktop bookkeeping software), I had a thought and I wonder if anyone else does this. I was thinking of starting to offer bookkeeping to clients where they don’t have any access to the books at all. In essence the job I would be doing for them is compiling their financials and giving them reports as they need. Does anyone already do something like this for their clients and how do you find that this works? On one hand I can offer the service for cheaper because they have less access and the client can save money by not having to pay for something like QuickBooks. For a lot of single-person businesses where everything is service-based and they don't tend to send invoices, this could be very helpful. I would love to hear everyone's thoughts.

I appreciate the software created by a CPA but I prefer cloud-based for many reasons. I prefer cloud-based because everything is saved in the cloud and I could safely work from anywhere. Also if my laptop crashes I'm lost. Why would I want to charge less for my bookkeeping services when I am providing a value-based service? I understand helping the small business owner save money but I am providing them that service when I manage their books and provide them with their P&L report so they can make better financial decisions for their business.
Niche?
Hi, if anyone would like to share, I’m interested in knowing whether you specialize in a a particular niche (i.e. doing bookkeeping for businesses in a certain industry), what it is and why you chose it. Or do you think it is better to be a generalist and why?

I didn't know what my niche was a few months ago but after much thought I want to get clients in the medical field. I am a medical biller turned bookkeeper and based on my work experience I am comfortable in the medical field. No not a hospital but working with providers in private practice, freelancers such as massage therapists, acupuncturists, personal trainers. I am open to any small business owner. I want the experience and see what works for me and who I can help. I reconnected with a friend/ex-coworker from my past and she became my first client. She owns an e-commerce business. I did not realize how complex an e-commerce business is but I'm here for it. I have also reached out to an architect I connected with during a speed networking event with my local chamber of commerce. I have no idea what an architect company books looks like but I am up for the challenge.
