The 10% Rule: Why your ADHD brain hates your To-Do List 🧠❌
Ever looked at your daily tasks and felt an immediate physical wall blocking you from starting? Here is why: Your neurodiverse brain sees a task like "clean the desk" or "write the report" as a massive, threatening mountain. To protect you from overwhelm, it cuts off your motivation. The fix? The 10% Rule. You don't clean the desk. You just pick up one single pen. You don't write the report. You just open the blank document. Once the brain experiences how ridiculously small the first step is, the "cortisol wall" drops, and dopamine kicks in to help you continue. 👉 Question for the founding members here: What is ONE massive task on your list today that we can shrink down to a 10% micro-step right now? Drop it below and let's break the freeze together!

Wow Bernie, that is a massive one! AI vs. land purchasing—those are two completely different, high-stakes worlds. No wonder your brain is hitting a wall; that’s the ultimate recipe for ADHD Decision Paralysis. When we have to make huge decisions, our brain tries to solve the whole equation at once, gets overwhelmed, and chooses 'freeze mode' instead. Let’s apply the 10% rule here to lower the cortisol wall. You don't have to make the final decision today. What is a 10% micro-step for today? For example: - Spending just 10 minutes writing down the top 3 pros/cons for AI. - Or just opening a blank document to note the single biggest risk for the land purchase. Which of these two small 10-minute actions feels less threatening to your brain right now? Pick one, do it, and let us know how it went!

I am so happy you found your way here! This is a safe space for late-diagnosed ADHD brains who are tired of the daily chaos. This community is brand new, and you are one of the founding members! How to get started: 1. Go to the "Classroom" tab. 2. Open the course "Your Roadmap Out of Chaos". 3. Check out Lesson 1.1 and grab your Emergency Kit. Small Favor: Comment below and tell me: What is the ONE thing (household, work, or mind) that you want to get under control first? Let's find our flow together! 🧠✨

@Bernie B Hey Bernie! A very warm welcome to the community, so glad to have you here as one of our founding members. 🙌 First of all, you don't need an official piece of paper to validate your struggle. If you, your wife, and your counselor feel it, the challenges are real. That 'jumping from thing to thing' is standard neurodiverse behavior—our brains are constantly hunting for a dopamine hit, which makes staying on a single track feel almost painful. I highly recommend heading over to the 'Classroom' tab and opening Lesson 1.1 (The Emergency Kit). It contains a super simple structure to help you lower the bar when your brain wants to bounce around. Let me know what you think of it once you’ve taken a look.

To kick things off, I want to ask our first members: What is the absolute biggest challenge you face during your workday with ADHD? Is it starting tasks, staying focused, or getting overwhelmed? Drop it in the comments—I'm using your answers to build the next free guides for our Classroom!
