Credit Card Utilization Can Change Your Score Fast
Credit utilization is the amount of your available credit that you are currently using. Example: Your credit card limit is $1,000. Your reported balance is $800. You are using 80% of your available credit. That high balance may hurt your score, even when you make every payment on time. Try to keep your total utilization below 30%. For stronger results, many people aim to report below 10%. Remember, your current balance and your reported balance may be different. Most card companies report around the statement closing date, not the payment due date. Today’s action step: Divide your balance by your limit. Example: $300 balance ÷ $1,000 limit = 30% utilization. Inside the paid community, members receive a step by step utilization plan and payment calendar. Comment your utilization percentage below.

Congratulations!
The Due Date and Statement Date Are Different
This is one of the biggest credit card mistakes people make. The payment due date tells you when your payment must be made. The statement closing date is usually when your card company prepares your monthly statement and may report your balance. You can pay your bill by the due date and still have a high balance reported to the credit bureaus. Example: Your card has a $1,000 limit. You spend $700 during the month. You pay it after the balance has already been reported. Your credit report may still show 70% utilization for that month. Today’s action step: Call your credit card company or check your statement to find your closing date. Put both dates in your calendar. Inside the paid community, we show members how to create a credit card payment schedule that is easy to follow. Comment DATES when you find both dates.
