Ego
I have a theory that the human ego lies at the foundation of most of our physical and mental health challenges. Let’s discuss.

The Unconscious
Came across this quote today and found it useful. “You cannot overcome what you are not aware of.” From having worked in the industry, I’ve found it so common that Trainers & Instructors frequently battle feelings of impostor syndrome, body dysmorphia, a dysfunctional relationship with food and exercise…the list goes on. And we can often recognize when our clients deal with poor self-image, perfectionism, and self-criticism that are often at the deepest roots of their health struggles (poor nutrition, stress, etc). So, as fitness professionals, why aren’t we as obsessed with understanding our own behaviors and underlying motivations that hold us back from feeling our best? If we don’t address what we’re dealing with first, it is unlikely we will be able to coach our clients through them.
