This week, you have freedom in what you draw as long as it’s Japanese themed. Think lotus or cherry blossom flowers, koi fish, dragons, geishas. I’ve added a hannya mask and some foo dogs into my drawings below. This is a good opportunity to google search Japanese creatures and mythology. Japanese designs have cool stories attached them which is partially why I love the style. I’m going to make a video on how I draw designs like this, using shapes and shadows like we’ve covered in previous exercises. Start simple if some of these designs look overwhelming. Flowers and snakes are always a nice place to start. Post your work for feedback

Made another flash sheet with roses and different things with the roses as suggested by @Che Crook I plan to draw it on paper as well once I have some markers.

Hey everyone, I’m Jai. I’m 28 and working towards a tattoo apprenticeship and building up my portfolio. These are some of my recent pieces. Drew the roses with Prismacolour pencils and Copic markers for the outline. Ghost Face I used graphite. Was my first time using graphite only too. I’d love to hear any feedback, and I’m keen to learn and improve alongside you all.

This week, I’d like you guys to draw a rose. Copy my rose or draw your own. Last week we did basic shadows and shapes to understand shading and contrast better. Now let’s apply it to a rose to take things to the next step. If you havnt done last week’s exercise, take part and post your drawings for feedback.
