could you make a series where you break down those 10 successful essays?
Easy volunteer hours and good extracurricular!
If you want to earn simple volunteer hours while making an impact, join STEMDost! STEMDost is a rising nonprofit who's mission is to spread STEM awareness to underprivileged communities around the world, starting with India. STEMDost makes step-by-step slideshows about easy hands-on activities such as making lava lamps and sends them to partnered schools around the world. STEMDost also provides funding for the schools in order for them to buy the materials needed for the activity. Using STEMDost you would be able to reach across the globe and share your knowledge with kids who wouldn't receive it otherwise. You would receive 1-2 hours for each slideshow you make. We will also be opening board applications soon. Let me know if you want to join or DM STEMDost on Instagram.

@Joowan Park my close friend offers FREE SAT tutoring (he helped me get a 1570). His non-profit is @learntogive_ on Instagram All money comes from donations, and he donates everything to an underprivileged primary school in Thailand so that students can have shoes, stationery and lunch!

@Joowan Park I'm currently in the process of starting a food bank in La Vega, Caracas, Venezuela. I'm collaborating with a local church to provide food weekly for the poorest people in Venezuela All money comes from my web design earnings. Would you have any advice with starting it?
Pomodoro Technique
Pomodoro Technique is really helpful for when I can't focus. 1. Pick your task or whatever you need to accomplish 2. Put a 25 min timer and work on that task w/o any distractions 3. Give yourself a 5 min break after the 25 mins of studying 4. repeat This helps because it gives me the small 5 min break to look forward to so I can completely grind and lock in for the 25 mins.

Make sure to use progressive overload. I started with 25/5, worked up to 45/10, and now I can do 3-4 60/5s back-to-back without losing focus!!
ACT or SAT?
Hi everyone! I wanted to see everyones opinion on whether I should take the ACT or SAT. I'm not sure which one is more "impactful" for college apps but I'm currently studying for the SAT. Lmk what you think!

Don't quote me on this, but I think some STEM based schools (like Stanford) have a slight preference of ACT because of the science section. Although they have never ever said that. All colleges claim to treat the two equally and have no preference. Do what plays more to your strengths!
Study "Hacks" are overrated
Many people spend waaaaay too much time trying to perfect their study methods and systems and stuff. Setting up notion templates and study playlists and watching "how to study efficiently" videos or looking for "hacks" while studying doesn't make you study better. The reason these "techniques" are so widespread is because they make you feel like you're being productive by having the most perfect setup, but you're not actually achieving much out of it. I think it's much more effective and a better use of your time to just get your studying done. Instead of obsessing over improving the process of how you're studying in order to speed up. Stop worrying about your current study routines or habits. There's absolutely nothing wrong with just studying out of brute force if it works.
