How to kill your golf game…🚨
Sometimes when we are in a rut in our games it can feel overwhelming to the point where we are literally trying everything we can to make it get better 🥵 In this scenario I like thinking in opposites, I find it helps me decide what direction I need to take. So in this scenario I think what would I do if I wanted to wreck my game?? 🤔 ❌ I’d be inconsistent with my play and practise. ❌ Every time I play and practise I’d go there with a different idea and goal in mind. ❌ I would neglect the things I’m struggling with. ❌ I’d change everything to the point of discomfort ❌ I’d make sure to work on everything all at once ❌ I’d make sure to be extremely negative with my mentality and internal speech ❌ I’d eat terrible ❌ I’d drink regularly ❌ I’d be sure to never work on my fitness and body ❌ I’d actively get as little sleep as possible, especially before I play. ❌ I’d make sure that my clubs aren’t suited to where I’m trying to take my game. ❌ I’d make sure to ignore advice from people that are better at the skill than me. ❌ I’d practise with as little feedback as possible especially if it makes it easier. ❌ I’d make sure to never check I’m the basics well. ❌ And I’d definitely make sure to be impatient and sporadic always looking for a fix The crazy thing is that most people are actively doing almost all of these and wonder why their game has stalled or isn’t improving. I ask anyone reading this list to come up with a list of your own that is the opposite of these (the thing you will do) and post it for someone else looking to improve. Let’s beat this game together 💪

Welcome
Welcome to the group golfers. To start with would love to hear Why do you play golf? What are you currently working on? How are you making sure you’re constantly improving?

Why I play: this has changed in recent years but Golf is the best test of one’s ability to delay gratification. We must constantly do things that feel uncomfortable without knowing if it will pay off in the future. This has such a carry over into so many other things in life. What I’m working on: Consistently getting practise in, something I preach is that frequency beats volume and often I find myself saying no to practise because I feel I haven’t got the time to “make it worth it” but practising what I preach means to get it in even if it’s something small like making some dry swings. How to know I’m improving: the only way is test and measure - at the moment that means how many days I practise rather than how long I have 👍

@Atomu Watanabe so good! Can’t wait to see the result! I played a few comps recently myself for that exact reason 💯
