Accountability. I think that is so important. When we do it for ourselves, it can be really trying. But when we know we have to do it, because someone depends on us, or we have a target that someone is watching... that can make the difference sometimes!

With 3 kids sometimes it feels like it's impossible not to bring chips, cookies, and other salty-crunchy-sugary goodness into the house. I believe in balance and sometimes I love nothing more than a cup of milk to go with my Oreos. But when I am stressed it is easy for those snacks to lead to a slippery slope Use one of these strategies next time you feel like eating the family-size bag of chips that was meant for the whole family... What can I do when I am the type of person that is all or nothing? I mean, I can quit sweets and really try hard, and I do! But if I even let a small amount in, it will lead to more consumption over days. I will try to substitute maybe something else?

Beware of Fridays
Now I know the general attitude to T.G.I.F is excitement because of the weekend. I want to challenge you to not follow the norm and start letting loose but to think ahead on how you can stick to your bigger picture. Most people will throw away their goals for the weekend to again start fresh on Monday. It is an exhausting never-ending loop unless you stop it. What can you do this weekend to stay on track?

Wow this is so true! I know I have done this many many times! Too many to count. I guess to stay on track, I am just going to have to have a talk with myself. And do something "fun" instead of focusing on eating so much and thinking of just letting go. I guess something creative or maybe a walk instead, somewhere I have not gone! It is hard. But it can be done.
