I pre-teach. I can’t expect my kids to join in routine or chores unless Ive pre taught them what I want them to do and how I want them to do it. I also tell them what happens if they fail to follow an instruction. I sometimes then role play so they can see how easy it will be and exactly what to expect. I use a lot of the teaching self-government tools.
