Hey everyone, After doing a few live lessons, I think some practical music theory classes could work really well. I’m not a huge music theory person — I’ve always believed theory is only really useful when you can actually apply it to your playing. But understanding a few basics can really help demystify the guitar and make everything else start to make more sense. A few lesson ideas off the top of my head: 🎵 How do you count rhythm? 🎸 How do you find notes on the fretboard? ⏱️ What is a time signature? 🔑 What does it mean when a song is “in a key”? 🎶 What’s the difference between major and minor? I’d like to build the lessons around the things you actually want to understand, rather than teaching theory for the sake of theory. So, if there’s anything about music theory that has always confused you, put your question in the comments below. No question is too basic! I’ll use your questions to put together some future live lessons. 👍

That upbeat, bouncy melody also makes it a really fun one to play as a fingerstyle guitar arrangement. I was mentioned on todays lesson that the open G can be played 2 ways. The G major chord only uses 3 notes GBD but it is normally played as a 6 string chord with some noted duplicated. Both of these configurations use just BBD so both are valid G chords.
