My life completely changed when I stopped scrolling
I used to fail every single time I tried to quit. I tried dopamine detoxes (lasted 2–3 days). I tried app blockers (found loopholes). I even sent my screen time to a stranger online for accountability. Nothing worked. For 3 years I struggled. Always back to scrolling, TV shows, movies, YouTube. Always wasting hours. But then, on January 16th, 2025, everything changed. That morning, I woke up and asked myself: “What’s so simple I’d feel stupid if I couldn’t do it?” The rule I made was this: - No short form content - No TV shows - No movies That’s it. Just 3 rules. (the thing was I could still do everything else) And since that day, I’ve been clean for 8 months straight. My screen time dropped. My schoolwork became easier. I go outside more. I feel wayyy happier. I’m actually able to do real deep work. Here’s the crazy part: The most “stimulating” thing I do now is work on my business and listen to audiobooks. And honestly, I love it now… Since then I’ve even started helping others quit too. I’ve had clients save HOURS of valuable hours every single day. And every time I see that I’ve been able to help them I get this nice tingling feeling inside of me because they don’t have to waste 3 years failing like I did. If you’re still struggling, here’s my advice: You don’t need a perfect system. You don’t need app blockers or some extreme detox. Just make your rules so simple that you can’t fail. For most people I would recommend just trying to go 14 days without scrolling that’s it… When’s the last time you went even one day without scrolling?

What’s your most effective screen time hack?
Yo, what’s good everyone? I was just wondering, what’s your most effective screen time hack? I’ve found a bunch myself, and that’s how I went from averaging eight hours a day to now only about one hour a day. And that’s without consuming mindless content, just messages, podcasts, audiobooks, and books. I’ve been consistent with this for over eight months. (crazy I know) I don’t even watch YouTube videos, short-form content, TV shows, or movies anymore. I’ve also helped a bunch of my clients with this, and we all have different hacks that work for us. So, what’s yours? And if you don’t have a specific hack, feel free to ask a question and then someone else might have a hack that can help, this way we can all help each other out!!

This is your sign to quit social media for 7 days
I haven’t scrolled on TikTok, YouTube shorts, Instagram, or anything like that for 8 months. I don’t watch TV shows, I don’t watch movies (except for school), and I don’t even watch YouTube videos (only my own). The most “entertaining” thing I do is listen to audiobooks. Most people have never even gone a single day without scrolling. Smokers can go weeks without smoking. But many people can’t go 24 hours without opening up social media. That shows how strong this addiction is. I tried to quit for years and failed. I tried dopamine detox, app blockers, even texting a friend every single day. Nothing worked. I always went back to scrolling. What finally worked for me was on January 16, 2025. That was the day I said: enough is enough. Since then, I haven’t scrolled once (think about that, it’s actually crazy) Here’s the thing: you don’t have to start by quitting forever. (even though the post suggests that) That’s too hard. You just need to prove to yourself that you can do it for 7 days. So here’s my challenge to you: - For the next 7 days, cut only one thing: short form content. - You can still watch a long YouTube video, or a movie if you want. - But no TikTok, no shorts, no reels. That’s it. 7 days. No short form content. After those 7 days, you’ll feel the difference, trust me. This is exactly what all my students and clients have done, all with very very good results. When’s the last time you went even one full day without scrolling? (ON PURPOSE)

social media was never worth it without the onion method…
You think social media is worth it, but is it really? Like, when you really stop and think about it, is consuming so much social media actually worth it? I learned from Sam Ovens (I’m pretty sure it was him) about this mindset called the “any benefit.” Basically, if there’s any benefit to something, then people assume it must be worth it. But that’s just not true. Yeah, there are benefits to social media. For example, maybe you learned about your business model there, or you picked up some habits, good or bad. But the bad things about social media heavily outweigh the good. And honestly, you can still get all the good stuff without all the bad stuff, if you just use some discipline and actually focus. For me, I don’t consume short-form content, and I don’t watch TV shows. The only movies I watch are for school. Other than that, I only listen to specific podcasts, what my mentor recommends, and then audiobooks. And you don’t need social media for any of that. You can still listen to audiobooks. You can still educate yourself heavily without it. So maybe it’s time to realize that social media is just not worth it. And maybe, just maybe, you should stop consuming it and put that energy and focus into something way more beneficial, like reading books, listening to audiobooks, learning from your mentors, or tuning into specific podcasts. If you have any questions about this, I’ll do my best to answer. I’m pretty busy these days, but yeah, if you’ve got questions just let me know.
