Had anyone else had any success with debt validation letters and disputing to removing collections from your account?

I have an old collection I am wanting to get deleted or disputed anyone had any success or share any methods ?thanks

If I already have a charge off on my old collections should I leave it to show history or dispute to get deleted ?
