The Gift of Being Seen
Hi Everyone 👋 Are you being seen ? There is a moment in that old story that I keep returning to..... The moment in the cave. The firelight. The eyes of the teacher meeting yours. And that strange, terrifying, liberating feeling of being seen, not as you pretend to be, not as you hope to be, but as you actually are. Most of us spend our entire lives trying to avoid that moment. We build personas. We craft images. We curate our lives for public consumption. We learn to present the edited version of ourselves, the one that is put together, successful, unbothered. We hide the scuffed shoes under the chair. We hide the messy parts, the ashamed parts, the parts we are certain would make us unlovable if anyone truly saw them. And then someone comes along, a teacher, a friend, a lover, a moment of grace, and they see straight through it all. Not with judgment. Not with disappointment. But with a quiet, infinite compassion that says.... I see all of it. And you are still held. That is the gift of being seen. The Buddha called it 𝗦𝗮𝘁𝗶, mindfulness, awareness. But it is not just our awareness of ourselves. It is the awareness that meets us when we are truly present. It is the gaze that acknowledges everything without turning away. It is the love that is not conditional on our performance. 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗻 𝗺𝗲 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱.... Being seen is not about exposure. It is about relief. It is the relief of no longer having to pretend. It is the relief of being known, truly known, and still being welcome. We spend so much energy protecting ourselves from this moment. But when it comes, it does not destroy us. It liberates us. So I want to ask you, gently, with love...... Who in your life sees you like that? Who holds space for you to be exactly as you are? And if no one does, what would it take to offer that sight to yourself? To sit with your own heart in the firelight and say..... I see all of it. And I am still held. With Love ❤️ Always Mark

🌿 Something exciting is coming to The Peaceful Path…
Hi Everyone 👋 For a while now, I’ve been quietly working on something very close to my heart. Coming soon to our Peaceful Path Classroom will be a growing collection of workshops, practices, teachings and experiences designed to help you navigate this extraordinary, sometimes difficult, sometimes beautiful thing we call life. And these aren't things I’ve simply pulled from a textbook. They’ve grown from more than fifty years of living, learning, questioning, getting things wrong, beginning again and discovering what really matters. They draw from my years of practice in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Behavioural Psychology, together with the many years I’ve spent sitting, learning and sharing with Buddhist and Taoist masters in China, India, Bhutan and Tibet. Some of what I'm bringing into the Classroom has taken me a lifetime to discover. And now, I'm going to share it with you. 🌱 For you. 🌱 For the people you love. 🌱 For the journey you're walking right now. There will be things to learn, things to practise, things to reflect upon… and perhaps a few things that make you stop and see your life from a completely different perspective. I'm genuinely excited about what's coming. And because you're already part of The Peaceful Path, you'll be among the first to experience it. The Peaceful Path classroom is about to become a very interesting place to be. 😉 More coming soon… With Love ❤️ Always Mark

Trauma Lessons
So back in May, my wife and I went through a miscarriage. Initially, we went through a rough patch coping through the loss. We had made a bunch of plans to rearrange our living space to better suit the baby when they arrived. As we started, we had realized the baby was lost. We decided to go through with what we had planned for our living spaces and it turned out to be one of the best moves for our family. My wife and I had gave up so much to make sure our kids were great that we forgot to take care of ourselves. The current move was to accommodate our new baby but because of the miscarriage, the new living space actually accommodates my wife and I more to a point where our whole situation improved exponentially. When kids hit the scene you almost go into a sort of parent guilt if you try to make yourself in a better situation because you feel the kids need to have it before you and in some cases that is true just not all the time. We needed a traumatic experience to get us in a position to avoid a possible more traumatic situation. This is that reminder of having gratitude on the good days just as much as the rough ones. That brief moment of life was needed to get us back in a better track and in its short lifespan, that little one accomplished so much and then got out quick. I don't know if this helps anyone else. If nothing else, it has helped me close that chapter in a more peaceful manner.
Lost Search
A search here, a search there, always searching and yet never knowing where. Sliding through the halls of darkness, looking for something real and yet coming up empty every time. Perhaps I should leave, perhaps I continue and yet why the hell do I go on? An endless field, a limbo of self doubt plagues my soul and yet still ends with nothing. And here I sit, still searching for something that I fail to truly comprehend. The aire is full of feels right now. So this is what I'm feeling right now.

How are you really doing today?
Hi Everyone 👋 How are you really doing today? Not the polite answer. The real one. How are you actually feeling right now? Tired? Hopeful? Overwhelmed? Quiet? Anxious? Peaceful? All of the above? This is a no-pressure space. You don't need to have anything figured out. Just a check-in. A breath. A moment of honesty. If you feel like sharing, I'd love to hear. If not, that's okay too. Just being here is enough. With love ❤️ Always Mark

I have been sad actually. These last few days I have just felt sad. Not one thing in particular but not really a list of things either. Just feel a little sad. Kind of want to cry sometimes. I have not been a cry for no reason person so I find it hard to release it when I feel I need too only because vI can't pinpoint why I'm feeling that way.
