If Your Studying For A Networking Certificate... This Is For You
The best Networking certificate ( IN MY OPINION ) is the CCNA, I know they're other really good ones but I say this because it's widely recognized internationally. There was a point in time I was studying for the CCNA before building this community and used this free 9 episode course to give me a better understanding of what to expect in the exam before I committed to any paid training programs. I think you'll find it really helpful, even if your new to all of this, you'll learn: - How Networks Work. - What A Switch Does. - How A Router Works. - What The OSI & TCP/IP Models Are. etc. Basically what the CCNA Certificate tests you on... Just sitting down with a pen and paper across this 9 episodes will give you a step up in your ethical hacking journey, I made sure to attach them in order to give you ease of access. ~ aScriptKiddie

I would also like to add that sometimes the best way to learn network is to setup your own simulated network and test various configurations

@Bree Kagwe I don't fully remember it but a resource that I found really good for simulating networks is packet tracer. I see if I can find the good YouTube channels that helped when I was learning networking
WEEKDAY: Digits vs Letters
⚠️!!SPOILERS IN COMMENTS!!⚠️ ⚠️!!SPOILERS IN COMMENTS!!⚠️ ⚠️!!SPOILERS IN COMMENTS!!⚠️ 🔑 KEY RULE: Upload your answer in PDF only, raw spoilers will be deleted. _____ Challenge starts below this line of text. ===== You've just gained access to a compromised server during an authorized pen-test. Buried in the logs is a stream of suspicious strings. Some are passwords packed with numbers, others are usernames made of letters, and some are junk. Before you can crack anything, you need to triage each string fast. Your job is to write a function, digits_or_letters(s), that classifies each intercepted string: - Return "digits" if the string contains more digits than letters. - Return "letters" if it contains more letters than digits. - Return "tie" if the counts are equal. Rules of engagement: - Digits are 0-9 - Letters are a-z, upper or lower case - Everything else (spaces, symbols, special characters) is noise. Ignore it. HERE'S YOUR TERMINAL Your code should pass all the tests: 1. digits_or_letters("abc123") should return "tie". 2. digits_or_letters("a1b2c3d") should return "letters". 3. digits_or_letters("1a2b3c4") should return "digits". 4. digits_or_letters("abc123!@#DEF") should return "letters". 5. digits_or_letters("H3110 W0R1D") should return "digits". 6. digits_or_letters("P455W0RD") should return "tie". ===== Goodluck. ~ aScriptKiddie

I think I fixed it @Bree Kagwe

@Bree Kagwe I will say there are parts of Rust that I have yet to understand so I might watch a video explaining it haha
If Not Ethical Hacking What Would You Do?
On an honest note: Realistically I would be a "Top Sales Woman". Delusion-ally I would be an "Astronaut". What about you?

When I was growing up I always wanted to be either a vet or a zoologist, but realised that I can't really stand the sound of animals in pain. If I wasn't going to go into ethical hacking my pursuit would probably be wildlife photography or conservation research
Do You Actually Need A VPN?
Found this video debunking myths on VPNs. In this video, you'll learn what a VPN actually does, why "HTTPS already encrypts everything" doesn't mean a VPN is useless, and how your ISP can still see the sites you visit even with secure DNS. We get into what "no-logs" really means and how to verify a provider you can actually trust, why a VPN can NOT make you invisible, and where a VPN genuinely shines: the metadata it hides, the dedicated IP that protects you from DDoS and swatting, and the all-in-one security stuff. Thought you might find it helpful.

Yeah from what I was taught in my cybersecurity courses and from other videos I have seen a VPN is more of an extra level of security rather than something you should use instead of other protection tools
WEEKDAY CHALLENGE: Encoding ASCII
ASCII is a system computers use to turn text into numbers. It uses (0's and 1's) in groups of 7. Which allows for 128 different numbers, from 0 to 127. Each number stands for a specific letter, digit, or symbol. ⚠️WARNING: SPOILERS IN COMMENTS⚠️ Have your answer ready before reading the comments. That way you can compare your thinking to others', even if you land on the same right answer. Challenge starts below this line of text. ===== Using the below integer array, convert the numbers to their corresponding ASCII characters to obtain a flag. [99, 114, 121, 112, 116, 111, 123, 65, 83, 67, 73, 73, 95, 112, 114, 49, 110, 116, 52, 98, 108, 51, 125] I want you to find the answer using a programming language of your choice. Don't forget to take a screenshot of your code revealing the answer and explaining the logic behind your code. HERE'S YOUR TERMINAL PS: I changed the terminal to give you more options of what programming language you prefer to use, just select from the menu bar to choose your arena. ===== Goodluck. ~ ascriptkiddie

I'll have to solve this later as my power supply decided it was it's time to save my PC, and I'll be working on figuring out what the damage is and what I'll need to replace as well as getting what I need

I believe one or more capacitors in my PSU exploded so it'll be awhile before I can get a new one installed but I might be able to do some things on one of my laptops
