What's new in Lapin in the next release
Studio: sketching in 3D - Draw lines, rectangles, circles and arcs (2-point or 3-point) straight on any face, in either of two ways: - SketchUp's way: axis inference in red, green and blue, and lengths typed at any time. - CAD's way: Sketch on face turns the face into a work plane for the command line. Look at plane and Finish sketch complete it. - A closed shape gets the push/pull arrow at once. - Lines across a face split it into regions you push or pull separately. A loop drawn inside a face is a hole. - Offset, Trim, Extend and Fillet work on faces, and sketch lines have grips in 3D. - Also new: a tape measure with guides, Follow Me, and optional SketchUp one-letter shortcuts. - A face's plane reads as seen from outside, and typed values never trigger other shortcuts. Modelling in 3D - Move and Copy snap to corners, edges and faces. You can also drag a selected element by its body. - An element standing on its level keeps it when moved. It goes up or down only along blue, or with a typed dz. - Walls, floors, columns, beams and the other placing tools work in the 3D view. Doors and windows go where you click a wall's face. - Grips snap like Move, and catalog items can be dropped on the 3D view. - M, CO, RO and MI work in 3D even with nothing selected. Visibility / Graphics - Model categories: subcategories (core, finishes, insulation, membranes, reveals) and new categories (rebar, coverings, formwork, scaffolds, MEP, steel connections, transport, shading). - Other categories: annotation categories, and imported DXFs by file and by layer. - View filters: rule-based, with colour, halftone, line pattern, pen and transparency. - Links: set "By host view" or "Custom". A linked IFC's layered walls, slabs and roofs can hide their finishes, insulation or core; linked rebar shows under the Rebar category. - Level of development per view: LOD 100 massing, 200 layers, 300 details, 350 connections, 400 rebar. It is set by the view style or on the view, no longer by the scale. At LOD 100, steel draws as one line and doors and windows as their opening and swing. - Output: sheets, PDF, DXF and 3D show exactly what the view shows.
What's new in Lapin since 0.1.618
Planning (4D) — new Planning tab - Work schedule and Gantt: - tasks, milestones and links (FS, SS, FF, SF with lags); - a calendar with Romania's public holidays; - the critical path worked out live; - edit by dragging bars, ends and links. - Model elements in tasks: - by rules (classes, types, storeys, materials, phases), so new elements join on their own; - drag the selection onto a task; - layered elements can be built in parts (core, then finishes). - Generate schedule… from the model: - templates for concrete frame, masonry, steel hall and timber frame; - durations from quantities and your own norms (imported from CSV/XLSX). - 4D simulation: - the model on any day of the schedule, with a player, colours for work under way and demolitions, and formwork and scaffolds only while they stand; - State at date on plans, sections and sheets; - a stages sheet, the Gantt on sheets, and video export. - Progress: a status date, % complete, actual dates, and elements marked done or started on site (also by session guests); one baseline, with variance. - Exchange: IFC processes, MS Project XML and XLSX, both ways. Cost (5D) — the Quantities tab is now Cost - Estimate from the model: your own price lists (CSV/XLSX), articles on types or rules by material, and Cost → Map articles…. - Romanian forms F3, F2 and C6–C9; workbook and PDF. - Cost over time: the S-curve (planned, baseline, done), monthly bars and table, the curve on sheets, and versions compared by cost. - IFC: cost schedules both ways. Documents - Written documents from templates, filled from the project, exported as DOCX, ODT and PDF. Romanian templates: memoriu tehnic, caiet de sarcini, borderou. - Visual editor: fields shown with their values, tables, pictures of views, repeats, conditions. - Templates and style: templates kept in the project or on your computer, and a company style (fonts, heading colour, logo). - Manage → Project information…, which title blocks read too.

@Rey Diaz The pro version will have a small fee - 20 - 30 euros/month - but will have some really cool extra features - including the bubblebim functions and automations - and tailor fitted implementations on the needs of the user - the free version will go on being awesome also - hoping to beat Revit for small and medium projects

Lapin 0.1.689 — what's new since 0.1.655
Interface - Workspace switcher beside File. One click switches which discipline's tabs show (Architecture, Structure, MEP, Site, Drafting, All, or your own). - Tabs on one line. Tabs that don't fit go under More ▾, and the tab you're on always stays in sight. - Fewer tabs. In All there are now 14 tabs instead of 18: - Interior holds Finishes and Furniture; - Site holds the site works (scaffolding, formwork); - Construction holds Planning and Cost; - Rebar 2D is now Simple rebar. - Quick tools docked on the left, against the project browser, so they move with it. They are smaller and see-through until the pointer comes near. - The quick tools can be hidden behind a small handle. Hiding is remembered separately for the model views and for sheets and schedules. - Lighter overlays. The HUD card (mode, level, snap) is smaller and see-through, and so is the key plan. - Result-only schedules. A schedule's table editor folds into a strip at the bottom, so only the result shows. - View → Drill into assemblies (off by default): a click goes from an assembly to its parts. Architecture - Balconies with a configurator: Juliet, cantilevered, stacked on posts, on brackets, hung, rounded, curved, loggia, corner, mezzanine. - Bay, bow and box windows. - Sunshades of eight kinds, with a noon helper for 21 June. - Elevators with a configurator of twelve kinds, after EN 81-20 and EN 81-70: - the shaft over the storeys it serves, with its pit, headroom and machine room; - the floors opened for it; - plans on every storey, a schedule and IFC. - Gates with their piers. - Copy to storeys: the selection copied onto several levels at once, in one undo step. - Walls meeting at one point. Three walls or more ending at the same point are now all joined and cut as a fan, with their layers following. This fixes the overlaps at sharp V corners with a third wall. - Hatch alignment per wall (Properties → Hatch alignment): - material keeps the material's own setting; - axis lays the hatch along the wall's axis, so a brick wall at an angle shows its courses along it; - view starts the hatch from the view's origin.

- Windows and doors configurator: - panes are split, merged and sized in mm, so one can be larger or taller than another; - any pane can be glass or solid, door leaves too; - mullion and transom widths can be set; - PVC, aluminium, timber and steel profiles, with rebates, lapped sashes, beads and drips; - sills and jamb linings can be switched off. - Trace over PDFs and images in any plan, section or elevation: File → Import PDF or image…. - A vector PDF's lines come in as drafting, at the scale the PDF was drawn to. - Draft → Scale image sizes an image by two points and their real distance. - Sheets: - custom paper sizes (width and height in mm); - long ISO papers (A0×2, A1×3, A3×4…); - US sizes (Letter, Tabloid, ARCH D, ARCH E). - The ribbon scrolls sideways with the mouse wheel when it doesn't fit. - Wall by profile: a wall's top drawn in elevation as a gable, slope, steps or your own points (Properties → Profile…). - The interface in Simplified Chinese (简体中文).
Lapin 0.1.655 Mac - wall problem in intersection
The video highlights the bugs: 1) Where I highlighted with the circle, the plaster intersects poorly at the acute angle, while it intersects well at the obtuse angle intersections. 2) If you add a wall at these wall intersections, errors appear between the layers, whether you try to start at the outer edge or at the wall intersection.

the first one is not a bugg - there are two different finishes on the sides of the wall. The second one it might be connected with the first explanation, but probably has some extra issues. will look into it
