[ANSWERED]: "I don't know where to start"
If you have ever opened the classroom, looked at everything inside, and quietly closed it again — this post is for you. "I don't know where to start" got the highest votes in the poll when I asked what is the biggest thing that is in your way right now.. So today, I am answering it properly. Start here: Watch the new video below, "How to Practice with the Falling-Keys Videos." In it, you will see the notes falling toward you with their letter names written right on them. Blue for your left hand, green for your right. You do not need to read music to follow it. You do not even need to know your letter names yet. The video carries you until your hands learn the way. That is not a shortcut — that is how I have watched adults genuinely learn for 18 years. Joy first, technique always. Then, here is your whole starting plan: 1. Watch the how-to video once, hands in your lap. 2. Open the classroom. Every song course has a falling-keys video inside, with the song titles right there. 3. Pick ONE song. Not the most impressive one. The one you would actually love to hear yourself play. Pick one song. One key at a time. 4. Press play and follow the falling keys, pausing as often as you like. Pausing is not failing, it is practicing. And here is my promise to you. If the song you picked feels too steep right now, do not pick a different song — tell me in the comments which song you chose and where it got hard. I will show you a lighter way into it, right there in the thread, so everyone learning that song benefits. Lighter versions are not lesser versions. They are how you begin. One more thing. The newest falling-keys course in the classroom, is Worthy by CeCe Winans — and it exists because of one of our Studio members. When she joined the Studio, this was the song that mattered to them. I have added a countdown before every entry so she is never caught off guard. And underneath all of that, my actual hands, on my actual piano, lined up with the screen, so she can see exactly how the graphic becomes real playing.

@Meishi Xie thank you so much. I have been slowly working through the information in the studio. I am definitely having more success with the falling keys.
First Workshop: 27 July, Monday [Stand By Me]
UPDATE: Our first song together has been decided! 🥳 You get to pick the song. 🎹 I'm building something new for us: a workshop where you sit down at your piano and play a real song by the end of the session. Not an exercise. Not a warm-up that sounds like homework. A song you actually love, with my playing alongside you the whole way. Here's the part I love. All four songs below are secretly built on the same four gentle chords. Your hand barely has to move between them. So whichever one wins, I promise it's within reach, even if you've never touched a piano, and especially if you walked away from one years ago. So tell me. Which song do you want to PLAY first? 🎵 Stand By Me. The classic about not being alone. Warm, steady, and it feels wonderful under the hands. 🎵 Unchained Melody. If this one plays at a wedding, someone cries. Slow, sweeping, and gorgeous. 🎵 Let It Be. The one where the piano IS the song. You'll be playing the part everyone hums. 🎵 Every Breath You Take. That hypnotic, circling feeling? That's the chords doing their quiet magic. Vote below! I'll close the poll on Sunday night and start building right away. And here's a little secret for the songs that don't win: they're not going anywhere. The runners-up go straight onto my list for future song kits, so your vote counts either way. Wrong notes are information, not verdicts. More on that very soon. 🧡 MS
