When (and How) to hire an editor? (For Tech Tutorials)
Hi all, I have a tech YouTube channel, and it's still pretty new. But some of the editing can take so long I'm wondering at what point do I decide to hire a video editor. I'm also wondering when it comes to technology tutorials. Can I even hire an editor since some of the technical concepts that need to be covered in the video might require some technical knowledge? I wouldn't want to hire someone and then basically edit the video for myself by describing to them everything that needs to get edited. But I also have never hired a video editor before, so I actually don't know what expectations to have for the way it works. Any guidance and help in figuring this out would be appreciated.

@Frankie Riviera This is a really common concern, especially for tutorial channels. A good rule of thumb is to consider hiring an editor when editing starts limiting how often you can publish or improve ideas. For technical content, you don’t necessarily need an editor who knows everything about the topic — what matters more is having: - a clear structure (intro → steps → takeaway) - basic context notes or a rough outline - and an editor who understands pacing, clarity, and screen focus A good workflow usually means you explain the logic once, then reuse the same structure across videos, so you’re not micromanaging every edit. Over time, editors learn your style and the process becomes much lighter for you. Happy to see you thinking about this early — it’s usually a sign the channel is moving in the right direction.

@Moa Via I respect the honesty most people feel this at some point in automation. The jump from “some income” to consistent 10K/month usually isn’t about working harder, but fixing niche selection, structure, and scaling systems. If you’re open to it, happy to talk through: - what niche you’re in, - what’s working vs what’s limiting growth, - and how to move from small wins to something more scalable, Collaboration works best when there’s a clear plan.

@Moa Via feel you, man. That frustration is real especially when the work is repetitive, time-consuming, and the income doesn’t scale with the effort. What’s happening isn’t that you’re failing it’s that copy-paste news content doesn’t compound well. It caps both creativity and income. You end up trading time for very small returns, which burns you out fast. If income is necessary right now (which is fair), the goal shouldn’t be to quit everything it should be to shift gradually: - Reduce volume, increase structure - Move from pure copy-paste to repeatable formats (same structure, different angle) - Focus on fewer videos that can actually scale, not just exist You don’t need crazy creativity you need a format that works without draining you. Once you have that, effort finally starts matching income. You’re not wrong for feeling stuck. You just need a smarter lane, not more grinding
From Almost Giving Up… to My First Real Online Win
From Almost Giving Up… to My First Real Online Win I’ll be honest, last year was one of the hardest years of my life. From January all the way to December, I tried everything I could think of online. I joined Skool with hope, watched others post wins, and kept telling myself “my time will come.” But month after month… nothing changed. I tried trading, got burned by Telegram admins. Tried Amazon FBA, didn’t work out. Sneaker reselling. YouTube automation. So many ideas… no real results. Meanwhile, I was working as a restaurant staff, earning about $600, trying to stretch it for myself and my family. I won’t lie, it wasn’t enough, and it was draining. There were moments I questioned myself deeply. Then around mid-December, something changed. Someone in this community introduced me to a different kind of business, simple, flexible, and something I could actually do with just my phone, without quitting my 9-5 or sacrificing my time. I didn’t expect much… but I stayed consistent. And for the first time in my life, I started seeing results. Not hype. Not screenshots from others. My own results. I crossed into consistent 4 figures online, and I remember just sitting quietly, shocked. As someone who once struggled badly, this meant everything. It wasn’t just money, it was confidence, relief, and proof that I wasn’t broken… I just hadn’t found the right path yet. I’m sharing this not to impress anyone, but to encourage anyone who struggled last year like I did. If you’re coming into this new year feeling tired, confused, or behind, I see you. I was there. If you just want to talk, share your experience, or ask how I stayed consistent, my inbox is open. No pressure, just real conversation. 📲 WhatsApp: https://wa.me/12266779624 Sometimes, one honest conversation can change everything.

@Kevin Horton Thanks for sharing this that kind of journey resonates with a lot of people here. It’s encouraging to see someone stay consistent long enough to find what actually works for them. The confidence that comes from seeing your own results really does change everything. Wishing you continued momentum in 2026, and respect for keeping it real and grounded.

@Pivamain Acc Your stats are actually strong for a new channel. With only 3 Shorts, YouTube is still testing audience fit. 3.5K views at 40 hours is normal at this stage. It’s usually not the niche yet it’s about giving the algorithm more data through consistent uploads and a clear format. Keep posting and watch how replays and shares evolve over the next few videos.

@Pivamain Acc That’s the right move 👏Daily uploads will give YouTube much better data to work with. Just keep an eye on the first 1–2 seconds and how people react (replays/shares). Small tweaks there can unlock much bigger distribution over time. You’re on the right track keep going.
What Actually Drives YouTube Growth (Beyond Posting More Videos)
Hey everyone 👋 One thing I’ve learned from working around YouTube for a while is that growth doesn’t come from luck or hacks it comes from clarity, structure, and consistency. Most channels struggle not because they don’t work hard, but because: - the niche isn’t clear - the content format isn’t repeatable - and performance isn’t being improved intentionally When those fundamentals are in place, growth becomes much more predictable over time. Whether it’s long-form, Shorts, or automation-assisted content, the channels that win are the ones built on systems, not guesswork. Looking forward to learning from others here, exchanging ideas, and growing together inside the Academy 🚀
