The Honest Friend
I nearly disappeared under the weight of silence. But a friend’s simple check-in pulled me back. Lesson for us as creators: never underestimate the small gestures. A message, a call, a reminder, it could change everything. What do you think of this video? https://www.instagram.com/reel/DO8CAqFDtMi/?igsh=NGRiMmRlZW0wdGsz

H.265 vs Apple ProRes Codec?
One of the biggest questions iPhone filmmakers ask is… which codec should I shoot in? If you’re shooting on the Blackmagic Camera app, these are the two main codecs you’ll see. H.265 is the lighter option. Smaller files, no external SSD needed - saves you a ton of space. But the trade-off? You lose flexibility in the edit, you push the grade too far and it just falls apart. ProRes is different, it’s 10-bit footage (which means more color information is stored in every frame), works really well with Apple Log, and gives you way more room to grade. The colours hold, the image feels richer, and it’s smoother to edit. But the downside is that the files are massive. You’ll need an SSD if you want to shoot this way. I personally shoot ProRes with Apple Log but I have an SSD so it’s not too bad So if you want the best colour grades possible on an iPhone, shoot with ProRes. But if you don’t want the hassle of an SSD, H.265 will get the job done too. Comment which codec you shoot in below 👇🏼

@Wood Charles good question. Me personally, I’d rather get the ssd because it allows you transfer files much quicker and lets you shoot in apple pro res without taking internal storage So you get more out of ssd in my opinion

#legalmusic
Hi. Can I can use legally a track (popular music track) inny video, buying license or do it correctly without paying. I need to use some music pretty often in videos for a contest, but they can say that my track is against the artist rights. Your advices? I usually can’t use any other song

If you posting videos that are less than 1 minute long on instagram, tiktok and youtube - then you can use any music in your videos on a personal social media account. You can't use any popular music on a business account, no matter the length of the video.
Keep Practicing!
A little advice for the new week; Prioritize consistency over perfection. I fought with trying to be perfect for a long time and I end up not posting or shooting any videos. This is your call to keep practicing and post what you practice. Let others share along your growth
